Special forces surrounded the Nablus homes of the three Aksa Martyrs Brigades operatives in an attempt to arrest them. However, when the men did not heed calls to leave their homes, the troops opened fire and killed them.
None of the soldiers were hurt in the operation.

In one of the houses, the soldiers discovered two hidden rifles and two guns. The weapons were transferred to police laboratories to check if they were used in Thursday’s attack, Army Radio reported.

The men were identified as 38-year-old Raed Sukarji, 39-year-old Ghassan Abu Sharkh, and 40-year-old Anan Subih. According to the Palestinian news agency, Sukarji’s wife was also wounded in the operation.

Ghassan Abu Sharkh’s brother, Nayef, was a former commander of the Aksa Martyrs Brigades in Nablus and was killed by the IDF in 2004.

Human rights group B’Tselem said Saturday that there was serious concern that troops acted as executioners in the Friday night operation.
According to the organization, evidence found in the homes of the slain terrorists indicated that in two of the three cases, IDF soldiers did not apparently act as if conducting an arrest, but an assassination. The two dead men’s families said that they were unarmed and did not try to escape, but were simply shot by troops at close range after the latter discovered their identities. There were no witnesses to the death of the third man, the group said.
Palestinians carry the body of a man who was killed during an Israeli raid in the West Bank city of Nablus, on Dec. 26, 2009.
B’Tselem said that it would pass on its findings to the army and demanded that a military police investigation be opened to ascertain the truth.

Also overnight Friday, three Palestinians who had apparently tried to infiltrate Israel from the northern Gaza Strip were killed by IDF troops.

Soldiers identified several people crawling near the Gaza border fence and alerted a helicopter, which opened fire and killed them. Weapons were discovered near the men’s bodies.

Of course Rabbi Meir Chai HY”D was unarmed and wasn’t looking for a fight when he was murdered, but the poor terrorists must never be killed… we can only capture them (if we’re lucky) and eventuality release them for something or another… shame on b’tzelem.

Hopefully, there is evidence that the two were killed trying to escape. If not, then there could be real consequences if they were simply executed on the spot.

This should be become standard operation for the IDF in these types of cases.
Except that they should try to make the deaths as slow as possible so as to inflict maximum pain.
Alternately, an independant unofficial “special forces” should just kidnap these murderous terrosists and torture them in a hidden location for the rest of their miserable lives.
Halevai – but alas this will never happen instead they are given
country club treatment in jail and then a few years down the road they go back (traded 1000 for one) to a hero’s welcome.
I wish s/o could explain to me the logic of this. It is INSANE.

I hope it was not an execution as that would be going down to their madrega. However, I guess they won’t be part of a future terrorist exchange. If the Idf has any brains they would bury them in an unkown plot( with only one person knowing and announce they were buried in PIG SKIN. END OF TERRORZISM!

This is very bad strategy – not to mention probably against Torah law. Even murderers must be tried before being executed according to the mitzvos of Bnei Noach, who are required to have a justice system. The death penalty is against Israeli law even for convicted murderers. From the reports it looks as if at least two of these men were unarmed.

Yes, whoever murdered Rabbi Chai did a terrible thing, but let us not dirty our hands by using the same kind of tactics. We must obey the rule of law even if our enemies. don’t. After all, we are Jews. We invented the standards of law, not them. Kal v’chomer should we uphold them ourselves.

Some of the comments I have read above are not worthy to come out of the same mouth that studies the Holy Torah. The day when we sink to the same depths as our enemies is they day they have won.

Why should our beautiful youth in the IDF have to risk their lives to kill these behamas ? The checkpoints all over Israel should be strengthened, NOT closed down so that these tragedies are less likely to happen.

I have more suggestions, too, but “our” government isn’t ready to do what is neccessary.

I doubt very much the claims of this peace group that this was an assasination, becuase if these charges are true, the security forces could be charged with murder or court martialed under Isreael law.

an alternative would be taking them and burying them to the neck so the ants and rats, would gnaw on their flesh and they would die screaming in agony. Best if no bodies are returned so they do not have any propaganda pretext but videos of these so called martyrs screaming in agony as ants and rats feast on their flesh, videos lasting for hours, would make them think that maybe they are not going to get 72 virgins for murder, and despatching them via rodents, is much better than the relatively painless punishment of a bullet to the brain, which is too fast for these guys who deserve truly atrocious deaths that last for days and days or longer, maybe they can be irradiated with something to give them stomach or anus cancer so they become a burden on their families and the enemies health support systems

I am #19 . It is really illuminating to read some of the posts commenting on mine. I was a Zionist and made aliyah when most of you were still in diapers (or not yet born), and I have only one comment here:

The Arabs have won. They have brought us down to the level of the Arab street, where we can rejoice in the same orgies of hate that they do, and fantasize the same sick fantasies that they do.
