Washington – Rahm Emanuel: U.S. Is Fed Up with Israel, Palestinians

    56

Washington – White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel recently told the Israeli consul in Los Angeles that the Obama administration is fed up with both Israel and the Palestinians, Army Radio reported on Wednesday.

Emanuel met with Jacob Dayan, consul general of Israel in Los Angeles, about two weeks ago, after which Dayan briefed the Foreign Ministry.

Emanuel told Dayan the U.S. is sick of the Israelis, who adopt suitable ideas months too late, when they are no longer effective, according to Army Radio.

The U.S. is also sick of the Palestinians who never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, Emanuel reportedly said.

Emanuel added that if there is no progress in the peace process, the Obama administration will reduce its involvement in the conflict, because, as he reportedly said, the U.S. has other matters to deal with.

Emanuel reportedly said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly acknowledged the two-state solution too late, and that the freeze on settlement construction in the West Bank came only after months of U.S. pressure.

The report added that both sides reportedly rejected the peace plan proposed by former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, but that if there is progress in peace talks, Obama might visit Israel and the region

“…Palestinians who never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, Emanuel reportedly said.”
True, but it was Abba Eben, Israel’s representative to the the United Nations, who said that around 35 years ago.
Mr. Emanuel should give proper attribution.

obama finally realized that his utopian ideas he was busy spewing during the election campaign were all theoretical, and textbook, but not at all realistic. didn’t he say during his campaign that if he were alive in the times if the nazis he would have sat down with hitler to reason with him, the same way he wants to sit with ahmadenajad (however you spell his name)

“Emanuel added that if there is no progress in the peace process, the Obama administration will reduce its involvement in the conflict”-
Actually, that would be the best thing that could happen to Israel right now. They have enough problems to deal with without the U.S. government breathing down their necks too.

    Finally!

    Some sense from the obamanaics!
Stay out of israel politics and it’s nice to see tht rahm understands tht the Arabs living in israel land don’t want peace, only the end of israel. And that israel cannot afford to carve up their country because then they would never be secure!

” if there is no progress in the peace process, the Obama administration will reduce its involvement in the conflict” Is that a threat ? Halevai – The US butting out of would be the best thing that ever happened. Israel is fully able to handle the situtation much better without having their hands tied and dictated to at every step.

The whole world shuld stop looking at Israel and then they will be free to do what they need to do without outside interference. THey should impose stricter press censorship, stricter controls over travel to the Palestinian areas, and create a shadow govt that would take over the West Bank one day without PLO or Hamas. There are moderate Palestinians who are afraid to speak up against the thugs with guns.

What baloney coming from Mr. Rahm Emanuel — the man who stabs tables with steak knives out of anger towards his political opponents !!! I would think that with today’s announcement of Senator Dodd and Dornan’s retirements because they are so low in the polls of their constituants, Mr. Rahm Emanuel had better promote peace between Obama and Pelosi. The Obama Administration is collapsing in Civil War. The American People are repudiating the Obama Administration with record low favorablility ratings in recent polls. Reality is slapping Mr. Rahm Emanuel in his face. Soon he will be back in Chicago wondering how he failed so badly. Good ridance.

This is a result of Obamas arrogance. He felt that his diplomatic approach to terror was the missing link in world peace. However, since he has stepped foot in the white house, his approach has proven most ineffective as is apparent by his continuously plummeting ratings as President of the US. What he doesnt realize is that you cant reason with animals. The only nation who’s face is not on the Heavenly throne of G-d is that of Yishmael because he is Pere Adam completely separate and distinct from human beings. Perhaps Obama should take a deep look into the Old Testament , realize his mistakes and alter his views accordingly. Then his disgust for Israel will subside.

Such harsh comments (as expected) on this story.

However, it is important to remember that E”Y receives an enormous amount of weapons and cash from the US government. The American people are not going to continue to freely hand over billions of dollars and get nothing in return for their money. The fact is that the US DOES have a say in what happens in E”Y because they are the country’s biggest “investor”. That is life.

What if Obama said “we are no longer getting involved in what happens in E”Y and we are no longer going to arm them or send money”. Would everyone be OK with that, or would Obama then just be labeled an antisemite for cutting off the free money?

In the modern world, politics is global. Our national interests sometimes lie in foreign countries (including E”Y). When Iran does something we yidden don’t like, or that is against American interest, we demand that Obama rebuke the Iranian government. However when Obama rebukes E”Y for acting in a manner that is against AMERICAN interests (even if good for yidden), that is just antisemitism. It makes no sense. You can’t have it both ways.

Rahm is a politician. That means he’s loyal only to his own self interest. One can hope that at some point his Jewish soul will assert itself, but don’t bet on it.

There is no balance. Moslems can live in Jewish and Xian countries but not vice versa. Moslems countries in general want the destruction of self rule for non-moslem countries and the re-establishment of Moslem rule through the “Caliphate” but not the opposite.

Political correctness obscures the truth. It is like driving a car through a dangerous neighborhood and covering the windshield with a picture of a drive in the country to feel better. The outcome is as clear as the point of view is absurd.

No. America is not fed up with Israel, our only real ally in this world. We are fed up with Obama and Ram Emanuel, and we will start seeing our anger with the Democrats exhibit itself in the 2010 elections.

#43 , I like your idea. So where do you live, anyhow? If I were hypnotized or brainwashed into believing that Pakistan or Cuba were holy ground you still couldn’t get me to move there! #35 , if Israel were to “deal with the Palestinians directly” without the US over their shoulder, then Israel would cease being the party holding all the cards in negotiations and would have to make some real concessions to the decimated Palestinian people for once. Is that what you want?
#32, “Rahm is a politician. That means he’s loyal only to his own self interest. One can hope that at some point his Jewish soul will assert itself, but don’t bet on it.” Puh-leaze, cut the sanctimony already. Aren’t you also looking out for number one? I mean, not all of us can be so successful as Emanuel, but that doesn’t mean we don’t each live in our own skin. Are you saying Yid politicians in the US should serve medinat yisrael? Aren’t we supposed to obey the law and execute our professional responsibilities first? Or are you insinuating that Emanuel’s intentions are simply too dark and malicious for anyone to truly fathom? ‘Cause that’s what the neo-Nazis and the Arabs say about him, too.

Emanual is the modern day Lord ha ha mocking and goading his own people to curry favour with those who want our self destruction. He stands for nothing and cannot be trusted when he makes grandiose pronouincements that israel must concede land and territory and agree to palistinian state right on our doorstep. What a fruit cake and miserable excuse for a self hating jew.

Re: #48 , “Aaron Cress”. Some of us act in our enlightened self interest and others in their narrow self interest, a distinction other readers seem familiar with. I believe that it is in the self interest of either type for the US to stop bowing to the only group that was the aggressor on 9/11 and whose people danced and rejoiced in the streets, and who has been the aggressor in every major act of terrorism since. RealPolitik must replace PC politics. There are countries who are our steadfast allies in thick or thin and others who hate or disparage the US overtly or covertly and whose people attack us. This too is not a difficult distinction, and having made it, it flows naturally who we, the USA, should strengthen and who we should weaken.

During history we find antisemitic Jews. If he was living between 1940 – i945 in eastern Europ (Poland, Hungary ect’ ) nothing would have happened to him. May be a pat on the head.
