A government official who asked to remain anonymous, confirmed to VIN News that in fact Mr. Rubashkin was placed in confinement, but categorically denied that Rubashkin was threatened by other inmates.

The official who was upset with the report, declined to give future details, saying “we are not allowed to divulge jail activity But I could tell you, that no threats were ever made to Mr. Rubashkin, and such reports are irresponsible and erroneous.”

What is the prison trying to hide? Why couldn’t they divulge the reason why SMR was placed in confinement? Very suspicious to me. Obviously, they are trying to hide something. Please G-d, watch over R. Sholom Mordechai Halevi.

Somebody is lying their pants off! If he isn’t being threatened then why is he in solitary confinement? They either put you in solitary because you are misbehaving and causing fights…or to keep you safe. I’m sure its not the former.

In these circumstances and for his own safety, he should consider trimming his beard and not wearing a yarmulke. In prison it is best not to draw attention to oneself by looking different from others. Everyone knows that should he trim his beard and go bareheaded, it is because he is forced to do so for his own safety and not C”V that he wants to do that.

Causing trouble and protection are the 2 official reasons by the BOP for placing an inmate in solitary, the unofficial motive that you will never hear is when try to break someone’s will power or moral, what is being done here to SMR is just this, the feds are trying to get this person roughened up a bit and C”V harm him in a way which I don’t even want to mention here, I know this from dealing with and trying to help Yiddish prisoners over the years, all I can say is one thing; המקום ירחם עליהם ויוציאם מצרה לרוחה this country is part of golus, the feds here (dept. Of justice) use no less severe tactics (psychological ones) then what was used in Spain in 1492. Hasem Yrachaim.

Solitary confinemet is used in smaller penal facilities to deal with prisoners who might not fare well in general pop eg white collar defendants. Stop thinking every thing is part of a witch hunt!

It might be for his own safety; he might have even requested it. Who knows what kind of prisoners that he had to be with. Anyway, every Jew should be mispallel for his safety and pidyon shvuyim. This is a very important mitzvah!

Great post, #11 . He’s different, so they’ve done this to protect him. When will we stop thinking that everything is an attack on Jews?

Is there anything we ”the people of democratic USA” can do to stop this lynching?!? anyone who watched the ‘whole’ case, read the court papers, and is familiar with the details of the case will tell you that this entire case is a ‘lynching’ of the first degree, what he did was common practice and most of the counts he is accused of was forced on him by the feds after the raid when he desperately tried to save his business, in which other businesses got bailout money is such a situation, its should be called the ”Holocaust Of The 21st Century”!.
Please if you have any ideas what we ‘the citizens’ can do to stop it please post.

Now SMR can begin his repentence in private, with no one to see his disgrace. maybe he’ll even become a truly frum Yidden? Don’t hold out any hope. How’s all that gold jewelry coming in, should reach about 10 cents by now.

US prisons need more oversight for prisoner’s rights. Congressmen should be more involved with setting up an agency where prisoners or their families can complain about and deal with their abuses by prison authorities. Maybe the Alef Institute or some other organization can contact Congress about this.
