If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken. Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially given my gross inability to gracefully articulate my thoughts in light of the storm raging in my head. Exactly what is therapeutic about that I’m not sure, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

As opposed to the first commentators who prob. didn’t read the whole article, the man is obv. a genious, just with the bad luck of being born into a corrupt society. The less brains, the less worries, unfort. that’s the way it is

He is right about a number of points. However, it is clear that he had an obsessive disorder. This topic has clearly consumed him for many, many years.

I was surprised that the only individual he struck out at was G.W. Bush. I understand that he has a problem with all the loopholes and such that wealthy people get to take advantage of, and the bailouts of American companies, but that certainly did not start (or end) with G.W. Bush, even if he was one of the worst offenders in history. Reagan, Bush Sr. and Obama have done more than their fair share as well.

I hate to say it, but there are many scary groups out there of militant “anti-tax” people who live to find ways to squeeze another nickle off their taxes. This has ranged from renouncing citizenship to becoming “barristers”. It sounds to me like this guy did everything he could to NOT pay his share of taxes by stretching definitions and twisting language, like referring to his new piano as a “business expense”.

Either way, he is no patriot. He is no hero. He is just a pathetic little man who couldn’t handle “life”. He dies as a lonely, sniffling, disgraced murderer and nothing more. His purpose was worthless.

He said: ‘I am finally ready to stop this insanity’

    I guess he meant himself.

Seriously people, the IRS has a way of doing this to otherwise honest folks.

I just finished reading the full extended article. Joe Stack has an extremely valid point, and it’s a wonder why some more depressed people have not done the same act he has. The government seems to think it can trample on peoples rights. They think that they have right to take whatever amount of money they want from its citizens. He’s someone that fought back this way instead of organizing and fighting politicians at the ballot box. But I believe he has woken up a sleeping majority. of us.

The United States was founded on limited government, Even the Federalist that wanted the government involved in governing would not believe how far government has gone. I highly doubt That I’m a minority in my beliefs. I believe that a majority of Americans have the same belief, but are unfortunately still asleep. Wake up America and smell the coffee. God willing we’ll have a real conservative revolution in 2010and throw all these big government bums out. Amen.

I just read his whole letter, and I have to say I feel sorry for him. It seems like he tried really hard to play by the rules, but got spat on every direction he turned. But before people go joining a Facebook group in his memory, I hope that they will remember that he is right: Big Brother IS watching.

wow great article. This guy was 100% on the money. We vote like fools in the same stupid game and expect a change. Pure sheker in the USA. Being in the gov was not supposed to empower and enrich public servants. Now it’s the system that matters, not those they are supposed to serve.

I’m absolutely disgusted with the commenters here. Khalid Sheikh Muhammed had just as much justification to get people to fly planes into buildings. We have been reduced to the level of our enemies. The terrorists have won.

I find it disturbing that so many here are sympathasizing with this evil man.
He was talking about his money problems. Why didn’t he sell his plane? That kind of airplane can sell for more than $100,000!
