Vermont – Senator Bernie Sanders: Climate Deniers Like Nazi Deniers

    27

Independent Senator Bernie SandersVermont – Independent Senator Bernie Sanders said that people who do not take the threat of climate change seriously remind him of those who downplayed the growing threat of fascism and Nazism in the 1930s.

The climate change debate “reminds me in some ways of the debate taking place in this country and around the world in the late 1930s,” Sanders said during a Senate hearing on the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2011 budget, which you can watch here. (The comments come at the 103rd minute.)

He continued: “And during that period with Nazism and fascism growing — a real danger to the United States and Democratic countries all over the world — there were people in this Congress, in the British parliament saying, ‘don’t worry! Hitler is not real! It’ll disappear! We don’t have to be prepared to take it on.'”

Asked about the comments, Sanders Communications Director Michael Briggs told Hotsheet that the senator, who believes climate change is real, “was comparing [climate change skeptics] to people in this country who were isolationists who didn’t think we needed to confront the threat.”

Sanders took heat from Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, the Senate’s leading climate change skeptic, earlier in the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing. Inhofe said “I know the senator from Vermont wants so badly to believe that the science on climate change is settled but it’s not,” according to Politico.

Inhofe is pressing for a reappraisal of the government’s position on climate change following revelations of errors in reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (deemed “trivial” by Sanders) as well as the so-called “Climategate” controversy. He wants an investigation into what he calls “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation,” complete with testimony from former Vice President Al Gore.

But as the New York Times notes, EPA administrator Lisa Jackson did not give an inch when it came to the overwhelming scientific consensus on climate change.

“The science behind climate change is settled, and human activity is responsible for global warming,” she said. “That conclusion is not a partisan one.”

Republicans criticized the EPA at the hearing for its plan to introduce greenhouse gas regulations next month.

He was making a perfectly valid point that any eco-conscious yid (like Sen. Sanders) is entitled to make. There were many people who underestimated Hitler, y’s, in the 30s.

This guy is almost as great an expert on climatology as Al Gore.

Get over it Bernie. Whether or not there is climate change, humans cannot affect it.

If his only point is to say that those who deny a FACT like the warming of the earth in the way they deny a FACT like the Holocaust, I supposed that is OK.

However, it is important to remember that while the planet warming is most certainly FACT (we can measure it), whether it is man-made or not is entirely debatable and there is certainly no proof either way.

H” may have created the world to last 6000 years, but don’t think for one second that what we do to it has no effect. Polluting the air makes us sick and makes us suffer horrible diseases. We know that. We know that air pollution contributes to many types of cancer. We know that global ice is melting at an alarming rate and weather patterns are changing faster than normal. On a few days over these last couple of weeks it was colder here in FL (at certain points) than it was at the Winter Olympics. We KNOW that storms are getting stronger and more frequent due to warmer ocean temperatures.

There are facts here, but they are currently disjointed and there is not enough to prove anything, but to claim you KNOW with 100% certainty what we are doing to cause or not cause climate changes is just foolish. You don’t know.

Bernie may be a kook on this issue and Al gore’s PR packaged “Global Warming” is not a closed case, but as many other conservatives (See David Frum’s take on the issue) I believe we cannot ignore the millions of tons of pollutants created by industrialization. We have a responsibility to conserve our planet given to us by HaShem.

Once you open the floodgates to political correctness about one subject, then a whole host of other subjects follow along. Does Bernie Sanders know how much it’s snowing in Vermont or Brooklyn? And after Global Warming Denial, what next? 9/11 Denial is also illegal? JFK Assassination Denial?

One Volcanoe eruption causes more climate change then all humans can possibly do in tens of years. So why blame humans for this?

I dont know how come people are still stuck on this climate change bull since the people who were helping perpetuate the hoax finally admitted that it was a lie. They said there was no evidence in any heat for over 15 years! Some of us heard the news about the emails while other deniers didnt.

Maybe the morons Hoaxers on this blog such as charlie hall and PMO should let the weather forecasters who know something about the weather, talk about the weather.

Charlie and PMO probably have a problem that they cant see anything because they think the sun doesnt shine!

The nazis wanted to control the world. What is the aim of the global warming theorists? Population control.
“Dealing with climate change is not simply an issue of CO2 emission reduction but a comprehensive challenge involving political, economic, social, cultural and ecological issues, and the population concern fits right into the picture,” said Zhao, who is a member of the Chinese government delegation. “

I’ve been thinking about the Big Lie….

Say something often enough and people will believe it regardless of how outrageous it is.

Some poeple went on this global warming hoax for many years saying over and over about how the world is going to melt (mind you in the 80s we were going to freeze any day!) and so people believe it even if the people creating the hoax were caught with their pants down so to speak.

The leads me to the moronic Liberal Senator from Vermont… Hitler Yemach Sh’mo ALSO used the Big Lie in talking about the yidden. Maybe that was the comparison this yutz was talking about.

I don’t know; the whole global warming thing has already been proven to be based on some pretty suspicious “science,” and there’s more than a little evidence that the folks (like socialist Sanders) who are pushing it are more interested in increasing the government’s power over our everyday lives than they are in the environment.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. If you disagree with anything I just said (or anything I said anywhere else), you’re just as bad as someone who enables Hitler.
