New York, NY – Koch: Obama Is Willing to Throw Israel Under The Bus to Please Muslim Nations

New York, NY – Former New York Mayor Ed Koch expressed disappointment in President Obama on Thursday for his treatment of Israel after it continued construction in East Jerusalem – the section of the holy city claimed by the Palestinians.

“I have been a supporter of President Obama and went to Florida for him, urged Jews all over the country to vote for him saying that he would be just as good as John McCain on the security of Israel. I don’t think it’s true anymore,” Koch told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu got a chilly reception at the White House last week after Israel announced plans to build 1,600 new apartments for Jews in East Jerusalem during a visit from Vice President Biden. The announcement drew sharp condemnations from Washington and calls to cancel the construction plans – requests that Netanyahu says he will not heed.

Koch said he believes Obama “orchestrated” what happened in Israel.

“What they did is they wanted to make Israel into a pariah,” he said. “It’s outrageous in my judgment. ”

Koch said he’s shocked that Congress, which largely supports Israel hasn’t “stood up and said to the president, ‘you’re wrong on this, Mr. President.'”

No details from the reportedly tense Obama-Netanyahu meeting have been made public. The administration’s precise demands on Israel and what Israel has offered in return have also remained under wraps.

But that didn’t stop Koch from offering his harsh assessment of the Obama administration.

“I believe that the Obama administration is willing to throw Israel under the bus in order to please Muslim nations,” Koch said. “We’ll know when I’m right or wrong.”

Well said. Mayor Koch. Now if only Congress would pay attention. Obama has been leading a charmed life on all fronts. It is about time someone tells it like it really is!
He passed health care reform in spite of what the people wanted. He definitely has he very own agenda and nothing will get in his way!!!

finally, one liberal jew realizes who and what obama is. Most of us knew who obama is and what his history is. But Mr. Koch i am afraid it is tp little to late. The only thing to do is wait until November and elect Rebulicans into power. The Democratic party is not for Jews anymore.

at first the jews volunteered to work for pharoh, then he began to increase their burden and decrease their pay. history repeats itself once again.

The only trouble is that I’m not convinced that Koch has the clout with the voters. Way too many people pay attention to the media endorsements of candidates, which means nothing at all since the tail wags the dog. (The metaphor of dog and tail is appropriate.)

American Jews need to realize that we have a real Muslim in the White House who will make sure that Jews will be second class citizens and Israel will be thrown under the bus. It is only a matter of brief time. This guy was elected, but has not governed yet as a representative of his constituency – just as an emissary of his preacher of hate. He just screams less. I have refused to include this president in my tefillos lishlomah shel malchus. I can’t wait till we are freed from him.

Thank you mayor Koch. I hope other liberal Jews and non Jews will also have” buyers remorse ” and see Obama’s true colors for what he truly is.

Mr. Koch endorsed President Bush over Kerry in 2004.

I WAS SO PROUD OF MAYOR KOCH.

In 2004, Mr Koch even did an ad for President Bush with Mayor Rudy in Florida.

I could never understand why he endorsed Obama.
Quite frankly I thought he was losing it.

At least I see, Mr. Koch is saying al ch´et.

I hope the rest of my landsman that voted for this new (old) version of Jimmy Carter wake up and smell the coffee.

That would be a big step.

Here again, a nice liberal jew realizes his big mistake.
If we would only speak of the rest eretz yisroel like we are now about yerushalyim then I am sure obama would not even think of what he is doing. Unfortunately when you divide “settlements” like chevron then what stops them from including the east and even the kote?

I fail to understand the shock and surprise.

True peace will come when we jews are proud and make it known.

It’s also a fact that Gallup’s poll released in February showed that 85% of republicans support Israel compared to 48% of Democrats. And the latter send from congress to obama is support of the Palestinians was signed all by democrats! Stop being in denial about obama and his gang wake up.

Where are our NY representatives, who normally are out there for us and Israel and Jewish concerns? Where is Senator Gillibrand (who is up for re-election soon) and Senator Schumer? Where is Congressman Weiner? The NY delegation used to be out there at times of our need. Let’s remmber this at election time because this is so important.

If Koch says it why not our elected representatives?

In the 70s, we marched by the hundreds of thousands on behalf of Soviet Jewry.
Why is there no public demonstration on behalf of the State of Israel?
Don’t hold your breath waiting for the ‘big’ Jewish organizations to organize this.

Sorry for you mr koch. you lost all credability when you endorsed obama. any plain non political ignorant citizen knew from day one that a muslim leaning president will be a disaster for israel especially and much of the free world. at this point we need to follow europe and start banning burkas, etc, etc, etc
