The general who oversees the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan tells The Associated Press that alleged bomber Faisal Shahzad was inspired by militants in Pakistan, but didn’t have direct contact with them.
Authorities say Shahzad told investigators he went to a terror training camp in Pakistan, but they have yet to confirm that.
Shahzad is a U.S. citizen, accused of an attempted terror attack nearly a week ago in New York’s Times Square. He was caught late Monday night trying to leave the country.
Unless they waterboarded him to get this information, I don’t believe a word of it.
since when does a General start getting involved in these type of domestic details
How would Gen. Petraeus know? He doesn’t work for the CIA, FBI or NY police.
Yes, he worked alone. Except for the people who trained and financed him.
Well he certainly informed them he was doing it as the Taliban were taking credit on YouTube before it happened. Its sad to see good people sucked into the group-think.
the recent remarks he said current & probably more to come,
he is a made to order general for chief hussein
Obama is in a dilemma he can not get wild and aggressive this was Bush policy so the General says he acted alone so Obama needs to do nothing and nobody will blame Obama that he is weak
Taquiya- the general is becoming quite a political actor- beware of him.
1) who financed him – the guy was out of work for a long time…. the car, the plane fare his apartment rent…. and of course the explosives…..??? working alone? I dont buy it
2) Gen Petraus has spoken against Israel – saying the whole middle east, iraq and afgan pakistan crises is israels fault… He is losing his credibility with me – it is like calling the kid who is in the playground and bullies start up with him – saying it is the kids fault…… NO the problem is the bullies (duh)… except if you are eisav or a representative of him
Yes. I agree. On Saturday May, 1 he acted alone without any accomplices. Prior to that is questionable .
Yes, why is the CENTCOM commander commenting on a domestic event? Is the initial CBS affiliate news item about Army Intelligence surveillance in New York City in connection with Shazhad correct? Is the Army now acting in a Posse Comitatus role with respect to domestic spying?
This very well may be the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while. So, the General that GWB put in charge of our “war on terrorism” in Iraq, is suddenly now a know-nothing boob? What wouldn’t you believe him? Why wouldn’t you trust his word?
The only reason people will bash this is because it doesn’t fit the story line of the liars in the media. The liars in the media make money hand over fist by keeping you afraid and telling you that the “mainstream” media (whatever that is) is keeping secrets from you. This just goes to show you how far their reach goes.
Gen. David Petraeus is one of the most honorable men to ever serve our country. He is not rich. He has nothing to gain by speaking up on this. Those that slam the good General are showing yourselves for the Limbaugh/Hanity/Beck parrots that you are. It is truly embarrassing to the rest of us to see such horrible ignorance in our community.
I can believe he acted alone since this brilliant act ‘worked out’…. But who was the one to call in at 4:00 a.m. from a publice phone the same day, at the location around where the terror plot took place to say that was a minor plot and there is more to come? That question triggers me more…
