New York – Orange County Executive Edward Diana Tuesday took Senator Kirsten Gillibrand to task for seeking $1 million in federal funds for an emergency operations center in the Village of Kiryas Joel.

Diana, who is contemplating a run against Gillibrand this fall, said he funds her funding request “outrageous and irresponsible” given the fact that the county has a new, state-o-f-the art emergency services center in Goshen.
If she visited the county’s emergency facility, “she would realize that a second emergency services center in the county is absolutely not needed.”
Diana said in a time when consolidation of services is the order of the day, Congress should be looking to cut expenses, not add to them.
He is 100% Right, the Emergency Op request is waist of money
The county has a history of making problems for Kiryas Yoel. What would they charge KJ to be part of their dispatch system? No wonder they want their own system
KJ Should file for a new town and maybe even COUNTY of KJ
And I’m sure some folks here will support Diana against Gillibrand because Diana is a Republican — no matter how much trouble he gives Jews.
There is a problem with an independent state of Satmar. Who is going to pay the taxes. What will the askanim have to keep themselves busy.
We pay thousands of dollars in taxes yearly – why not put “my taxes” to work for my community where I can enjoy it.
so, what’s the difference between a state or a village?
What’s going on with you guys, if we can have some help from the state to have an emergency operation center in our naighborhood, and it can saves lives by reacing the center 15 minutes earlier, why should you even think that its wrong, such a big population in such small area, needs a big center, and all you guys that think it is not neccesery, is just because you have a little sinas chinom in your hart, and can’t see good things happen in the Villige of KJ, Shame on you!!!!!!!!!
at Least the Senator has enough brains to know where her votes come from This is all about politicking.
about a year ago happing a tragedy in kj: when a construction worker was plunged in mud while working on a street called lemberg ct. if any of you remember it took about 5 hours to get the guy out. the kj ems was there so was kjfd & other emergency units. the reason why it took it took them so long is because kiryas joel don’t have the right equipment for such a need, so they called in goshen”s emergency respond service truck, so till they showed up & till what where & when it took all together 5 hours: now think a moment if kj would have this equipment it would be less time & more safe: wouldn’t it? you tell me witch village town or county wouldn’t want to have such a “emergency for special operation” service center
Nothing more than political pandering. Yet another embarassment to the community. Sad.
