New York, NY – New Yorkers Using Less Water?

    5

New York, NY – Are New Yorkers getting dirtier or maybe they’re less thirsty? New York City says it’s using less water than at any time since 1951.
Daily water consumption in New York City averaged just over 1 billion gallons in the year that ended on June
    30.
The drop is due in part to a requirement that renovations and new construction include water-saving plumbing fixtures and devices.

THere is another reason that nobody seems to grasp. There are fewer NYers today than there were 50 years ago. The 1950s census was nearly 10 million within the city limits and today it is closer to 7 million. Fewer people = less water usage.

Now we are using filters for the bugs, it really slows down the water pressure a lot so we are using a lot less water.

    There are three reasons:
    1)meters 2) meters 3) meters

Another reason is that they installed water meters the past few years. I used to let the water run now I don’t.

The reason is because of the low quality (copepods)of the water, more people are buying bottled water.
