A White House spokeswoman would not confirm the President’s planned visit to 1 Police Plaza — but the city is already making preparations for the downtown visit.
President Obama is due in town for a fundraiser at the St. Regis Hotel later Thursday evening, the White House said.
The Commander in Chief’s planned visit to New York City comes less than two weeks after local and federal law enforcement teamed up to arrest a Pakistani-born naturalized U.S. citizen in connection with a failed plot to set off a powerful car bomb in Times Square.
Faisal Shahzad was nabbed just as he tried to leave the United States on an Emirates Air flight for Dubai.
Shahzad has admitted to the May 1 bomb plot, and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said quick investigative work by federal, state and local officials led to his arrest.
Obama’s tour of New York on Thursday will also take him upstate, where he will make a stop Buffalo to discuss the economy. He is scheduled to tour a factory and meet with workers as the White House continues to promote its jobs agenda.
Is he going to JFK also?
I cringe when I read this news, a trip for obama to NYC costs taxpayers atleast several hundred thousand dollars all for some fake unneccesery photo-ops, what a waste, those people don’t deserve credit they did not do anything brave!!
Did someone put his life on the line here???
That’s what they are getting paid, not for drinking coffee and playing with the phones all day

NBC New York reports: The feds are slashing terror funding for New York’s mass transit system, according to Sen. Charles Schumer. The surprising move comes just 11 days after a botched attemped to explode a car bomb in Times Square — yet another reminder that New York City remains the prime target for terrorist strikes in the United States.
Senator Charles E. Schumer blasted today’s announcement that the Department of Homeland Security would be slashing the Big Apple’s allocation of Mass Transit and Port Security funding. “For the administration to announce these cuts two weeks after the attempted Times Square bombing shows they just don’t get it and are not doing right by New York City on anti-terrorism funding, Schumer said in a statement. “We urge them to reconsider this decision. Instead of distributing funding all over the country, they should focus their attention where the greatest threat exists, right here in New York.”
Obama: instead of thanking our cops with a useless photo-op, why don’t you thank them with a boost in funding so that they can do their job BEFORE a tragedy is 12 seconds away.
Obama, enough with ur publicity stunts!!
No1 cares for you to come!!
Stay in DC please!!!
Not only is he cutting terror funding , he will create a nightmare of traffic tomorrow. Obamala stay home, will ya?!
