His wife, Leah Rubashkin, said he complained last week of a bite, but didn’t know how it originated. His family said they thought the condition wasn’t serious.

Over the weekend, he received an intravenous antibiotic and a round of oral antibiotics, she said. On Sunday, he complained about the rash again, and he was kept overnight at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

The judge and attorneys are in chambers now discussing the issue. Court is adjourned for today and will resume tomorrow morning.

Rubashkin’s attorneys said they can’t say anything because of medical privacy laws. But word in the courtroom is that Rubashkin has been located after some initial confusion about his whereabouts. His attorneys are now trying to navigate the privacy laws so they can meet with their client.

Why do they drag this out for months?? He should be serving his sentence in a prison where he can get the medical and psychiatric care he needs and also is allowed to observe yiddeshkeit and get kosher food. These nonstop trials and hearings are wearing him down and making him sick.

Was he in the woods and bitten by poisonous ticks and spiders cause otherwise no bug bite should give you an infection that requires full blast of IV antibiotics. Hygiene is important to prevent skin infections after bites.

The rash could be when they dragged Sholom on the cement floors of the prison.

    Yidden,

Please do not respond to the mishigoyim spurting venom on this and other sites. Their infection is many times worse than what SMR is going through. SMR will take antibiotics and BE”H will be fine. He will also be free very soon with G-d’s help. The government’s, DA’s, ICE, etc. web of lies, lies and more lies is now melting – read the report in Yated by Debby Maimon… Finally things are getting out into the open:
    26 Mil? – LIES!
    Underaged workers? – LIES!
Bad working conditions, no benefits, low wages? – ALL LIES!
The brutal sheriff with SMR “unreasonable religious wants” – caught in his own LIES. Will be out of paycheck soon BE”H.

On the other hand the government brutality is now public (see PBS report), the raid, the arrests, treating people like cattle with ankle bracelets, destroying a whole town for nothing more than a bunch of LIES. .

So G-d willing he will be out soon and the government bafoons will be out of jobs.. But these acheinu bnei Yisroel, are so sick – nebuch. Please don’t fire back at them – won’t help. They need our t’filois more than R’ Sholom Mordche. May they all have refuoh shleimo, refuos hanefesh v’refuos haguf.

SMR epitomized ahavas yisroel. lets at least improve in that area…those against him are blinded and brainwashed by the prosecution/media and simply believe he was bad. anyone who knows him understands- and those who dont- relax- every person is challenged in different areas- smr’s challenges were in business- but he shined so beautifully in all his middos to others (yes, especially to his workers!)- YOUR challenges may not be in business…but it looks like they may be in ahavas yisroel…or ahavas Hashem- whatever it is- we dont put down others because of their weaknesses- cuz weve all got them in different areas- and our job is to love and help each other- cuz like it or not, we are all brothers. May Hashem help SMR. Moshiach now!

    “אמת is…..”

The אמת is not only what you want it to be.

    http://www.vinnews.com/54364/2010/04/29/ceder-rapids-ia-prosecutors-reduce-request-from-life-to-25-years-for-rubashkin/

“Rubashkin told the court he had made mistakes and was remorseful. In a thick Brooklyn accent, he reiterated that he was sorry for his actions…..”

And, that too is the אמת- from his own mouth.

“I believe in the criminal justice system”

This is admirable, and I truly mean it.

Just one question if I may. I am no expert, but from what I heard: American Justice System is based on the concept of “presumption of innocence” as one of its cardinal principles, is it not? Do you happen to believe in that too? And having applied this principle to the case at hand would you be willing to re-evaluate your previous post(s)?

Now, of course everyone is entitled to an opinion. But since you have expressed such trust in the justice system I would think that you would be more particular than most others in actually living by its principles (one of them being the aforementioned “presumption of innocence”)… Or could it be that you actually just want to see your fellow Jew behind bars rather than “justice served” to teach some sort of a perverted “lesson”. Do tell.

    BS”D
    Shalom u”Brocho,
As high school debate team classmate of Bruce Friedrich of PETA, and as the person who introduced Rav Sholom shlit”a to the Palauans who brought the UN Ambassador and Vice President of Palau to Postville, where the US knowingly permitted more than a hundred poor Pacific islanders to go jobless and homeless in near wintertime as the US caused the demise of Agriprocessors, it is clear that the media and courts have not been just. After the Palau fiasco caused by the US, it turned out that President Toribiong, a defense lawyer, was able to be convinced to help the Uyghur Muslims from Guantanamo Bay to be resettled as refugees, solving a massive US national security crisis pending from the Kiyemba decision which would have chas vesholom made America and Obama look very bad. So without any doubt let one say that Rav Sholom shlit”a and his family have made great personal sacrifices for our national security. Also, in Britain there was a common law right to a Jews’ jury de medietate linguae to prevent Nokhri bias, the US Supreme Court in Respublica v Mesca 1 U.S. 73 (1783) approved this before the sixth amendment. May HKBH protect all Yisroel with refuah shelomo!

In re defense in United States v. Sholom Rubashkin (Agriprocessors, Inc.), Northern District No. 08-1324

State of Iowa v. Sholom Rubashkin, Allamakee County No. SMAC 009342
    9311 Counts- Child labor Violations

Why is no argument being advanced that the non-Jewish employees of Agriprocessors were engaged in first amendment
protected and privileged religious work, for which Congress has no authority to restrict employment therein as to aliens, nor the state
has any authority to limit employment therein as the any specified age, many many Jews have religious ordination to determine the kosher status of
food products or slaughter processes before they are legally of majority or even bar mitzvah, as the courts have held in:

In Jewish law, non-Jews after they are capable of normal adult reasoning are ipso facto adults and not minors. In American law
minors have every right to engage in religious occupations. Joseph in the Torah was engaged as a religious worker as a minor.
