Buchanan found himself in hot water last week after he penned a piece saying that if Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan is confirmed, the number of Jews on the Court will be highly disproportionate to the U.S. population, (reported here on VIN News).

The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) wrote a letter to Creators Syndicate asking it to take down the column and stop publishing him.

We ask that you pull down Buchanan’s latest column from your website and that you stop publishing his over-the-top, conspiratorial screeds, it reads.

In the column, titled, Are liberals anti-WASP?, Buchanan wrote: If Kagan is confirmed, Jews, who represent less than 2 percent of the U.S. population, will have 33 percent of the Supreme Court seats.

Several Jewish groups have long quarreled with Buchanan, accusing him of making anti-Semitic statements and being opposed to the state of Israel.

Buchanan has denied his remarks have been anti-Semitic and says he supports Israel.

    Here’s the letter in full:

    To Creators Syndicate:

Pat Buchanan has a history of Jewish obsession and anti-Israel rhetoric. Last week, you allowed him yet again to continue his fixation with Jews, this time criticizing President Obama’s pick for the Supreme Court, Elena Kagan, simply because she’s Jewish.

The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) and its supporters strongly condemn Buchanan’s column – Are liberals anti-WASP?

Religion should never be a prerequisite for picking a Supreme Court nominee. Publishing Buchanan’s fringe column gives him and his ideas validity. It’s time to take a stand against this sort of intolerance in our country’s political discourse.

We ask that you pull down Buchanan’s latest column from your website and that you stop publishing his over-the-top, conspiratorial screeds.

During these challenging times, it is more important than ever that we hold ourselves to a higher standard. Help us end the practice of promoting ethnic and religious divisiveness by removing this ugly column today.

I agree in so far as that we don’t need extreme liberals on the Court (Jewish or other), such as this Lesbian extremist Kagenite cannanite.

Hmmm, if it would be a racist writing a column about how blacks and hispanics were destroying America, everyone would boycott the newspaper and force them to drop him. Arizona makes a law that, wrong or right, targets hispanics and several major cities cut all ties to Arizona…but when it’s a vehement anti-semite who spews hatred for the Jewish people, only Jews come out against it.
This is an example of the subtle anti-semitism of America.

Yeah, lets try censoring people with stupid opinions. That’ll work out really well. Seriously, all these idiots crying after every slight (real or imagined,) against us are doing more harm then good and come off like loud bullies. Stop pretending to represent us.

There was nothing wrong with his column. Why is it that every group can advocate for their own accept for white Christian males?

Sounds like the group in EY who wants to keep Prof. Chomsky from speaking to the Palestinians. Lets stop censoring our enemies.

Pat Buchanan praised the SS as an elite group for the devotion to the Vaterland, he pushed for disbanding the section in the Department of Justice which prosecutes war criminals [mostly ukrainians], he argued that war criminals no longer should be procecuted for killing Jews due to time lapse since WW II. On VIN some still consider him a fine conservative instead what he is an antisemite

What did Buchanan say that was so bad? All he did was criticize the concept of diversity of the Liberals, but points to the fact that Protestants (though he is a Catholic) are 75% of the country and have no justices on the Court. What’s wrong with that? Where is freedom of speech?

Buchanan is a putz but he does have something of a point. To wit, the Demorats are always talking about a court that reflects the make up of the country. Diversity is, after all, so important… right? Well, America is roughly 53% Protestant, 24% Catholic, 2% Jewish, and the rest (21%) either “other Christian” (eastern Orthodox, Mormon, etc), other religions (Buddhist, Muslim, etc) or either non-affiliated or atheist. Justices Roberts, Alito, Kennedy, Thomas, Sotomayor, and Scalia — six of the nine — are Catholics. Justices Ginsberg and Breyer are Jewish. Justice Stevens, whose retirement Kagan’s nomination would fill, is the last Protestant. The appointment of Kagan would create a court that is 1/3 Jewish and 2/3 Catholic. How does that relect the American people?

Buchanan understands that Jewish justices (as are Jews in general), the most reliably liberal/progressive/socialist. Obama got 88% of the Jewish vote. Jews vote consistently and OVERWHELMIGLY Demorat. I admit, Buchanan sees this through the eyes of an anti-semite but what he sees is undeniably true. Jews ARE, generally, lefties.

Of course, Kagan would be the first homo on the court. Isn’t “diversity” wonderful?

Apparently Mr. Buchanan is not a fan of the constitution. He must’ve missed the part where it says “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

I agree that Buchanan is an anti-Semite, but he has caused far less damage to Jewish causes than the Obama clan. Will these phony Jewish Democrats call on Obama/Jeremiah Wright/Jimmy Carter etc. to be shoved aside?

To #27 ………THIS was not the point Buchanan was making. He was simply pointing out the mistaken view of “diversity” which should at least include a few Protestants, who make up almost 75% of the population of the United States. Get it?
