During the ceremony, they asked for forgiveness from those whose graves were disinterred.

Before the gathering, the Religious Affairs Ministry gave authorization to the Eda Haharedit leaders to take the bones in a coffin to the ceremony and bury them in a modest ceremony. Officials on the case refused to report whether the burial will take place in the Jewish section of the cemetery.

“The bones have been given to the (religious) undertaker to be buried in a Jewish cemetery, since there is a possibility they are Jewish,” a spokesman for the religious affairs ministry told AFP.

Posters visible throughout the neighborhood accused archaeologists of treating the human remains with disrespect.

Rallies against the Barzilai bone removal spread as far as New York City, where several hundred Satmar chassidim gathered in Manhattan this week to protest the incident.

Disgusting display by extremists. These bones are non-Jewish and for further proof they have just discovered a Pagan altar at the spot. Stupid people

What a chilul hashem to give such kavod to the remains of pagans. The Eda has distorted yiddeshekiet to make a political statment. Hashem yarachem.

Human remains are human remains. We do not differentiate between the way that we treat non Jewish bodies. See Haifa Chief Rabbi Rav She’ar-Yashuv Cohen “Even if the bodies aren’t Jewish, there’s kavod adam [human dignity] which we’re obliged to follow. We can’t discriminate because they’re not Jewish – it’s against the spirit of Judaism,” with regard to the BodyWorks exhibit last year.

Unfortunately this discovery may very well prove that the pagans have an older claim to the land than we do.

Even if there is a safek that these bones aren’t Jewish, are they being buried in a Jewish cemetary?

Good thing it was isru chag or they would have had hespaidim for the pagans too!

I wonder if they said Yizkor for them on Yom Tov.

Those Pagans must have worshiped the correct rock to get hundreds of “”tzadikim”” to pay their respects 3 thousand years later. Was the Eda’s rabbi weiss saying the kaddish?

all you guys living in the states have no idea of what the real ramifications are. The state should not be digging bones regardless of whos they are. if you want to be respected you have to respect opthers. The medina could have avoided this but the chilonim turned it into a political statement. We shall Overcome!!

Just curious, how do pagan bones look as opposed to Jewish bones?

And now that they have found a pagan altar on the site, it’s become obvious that they have buried pagan bones in a Jewish cemetary. All people deserve to be buried b’kavod. But Gentiles should not be buried as Jews.

Does the Eda “Haharedit” Kashrous Division use the same misguided principles as their Pagan Burial Division?

I cannot believe that I would ever see the day, that frum Jews would give respect to bones have a good chance of belonging to people who bowed down to idols. What is the world coming to?

This is a continuation of the violent Chilul HaShem started at the Hospital site.
Why is there so much Bitul Torah.
Besides the bone are of non Jews.
The protesters now look like real fools, that includes the Rabbonim who supported their activities.
I T WOULD BE BETTER FOR ALL THOSE PEOPLE IN THE PROTESTS TO GO OUT AND FIND A JOB AND SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES.
