Moscow, Russia – Jewish organisations will participate in a gathering in memory of Jewish journalist Politkovskaia who was killed last Saturday in Moscow.

Anna Politkovskaya, a prominent Russian Jweish journalist and an American citizen, who was very critical of the war in Chechnya, has been found shot dead at her apartment block in central Moscow. Her body was discovered in an elevator by a neighbour on Saturday evening. Police officers found a pistol and four rounds abandoned in the elevator.
Politkovskaya a mother of two, was an American citizen because of her birthplace in the US. Her jewish parents worked as ” Russian diplomats” in the “Russian embassy” in Washington, DC. She also held a Russian citizenship.
Politkovskaya’s widely-praised war reporting came under scrutiny from Russian politicians and security services. She had been arrested and complained of sometimes being threatened. Contract killings are not unusual in Moscow. Reporters are frequently targeted.
Today, demonstrators led by the Jewish community, will demand an international and independent investigation over the assassination.
I lived in Russia for 13 years and know the score all too well:
1) The Chechens hate Jews; they are Islamic radicals and she was just a useful leftist idiot fellow traveler to them.
2) She had no connection whatsoever with the Jewish community.
3) She is the descendant of the worst traitors – the Jewish communists who sent bnei Torah off to labor camps.
She is a tinokos shenishbaa and therefore not responsible for what she was. But nothing she ever did helped any Jew or anyone else except her radical Islamist friends. The sudden revelation of her Jewish heritage is just a way for her handlers to gain more sympathy in the West.
Putin is not perfect, but his actions against the Chechen behemas are the same as Israel’s actions against Hamas. I do not think his forces killed a non-entity like Politkovskaya or whatever her name was. Try a rival Chechen faction.
I saw on the news that she was the first outsider allowed into the building where the Chechens held hostage those Russians several years ago in Bezlan. I had no idea she was jewish. What a tragedy and Kiddush Hashem for her important work
