Officer Julie Sullivan, 32, assigned to downtown Brooklyn’s 84th Precinct, was arrested, because she collected about $7,000 in welfare benefits for herself and her two daughters while being an employ of the NYPD.
She was receiving public assistance before joining the NYPD last year – but never told welfare officials about her job, said a spokesman for the Brooklyn district attorney’s office.
Sullivan has been suspended from the force, police said.
