The university said it “strongly condemns” her “wholly inappropriate comments” but they shouldn’t diminish her “many years of exemplary service” and pioneering role in journalism. Thomas, a veteran White House correspondent, is a Wayne State graduate.

In remarks captured on video recently, Thomas said Israel should “get the hell out of Palestine.” She apologized and retired.

Can someone please post an email address and phone. # of the directors of the university, and let's flood them with thousands of calls. They will give in just like hearst and company gave in to the pressure. We have to be extremely organized and coordinated if we don't want anti-semitism to grow chv"s. Hasem should help, once these bigots and haters feel they can get away with murdering an innocent Jew, they won't have an issue with it, we have to al pi halocha, stand up and protest these haters before it may get out of hand chv"s.

Listen, if I was a joke school like Wayne State University, ranked at Tier 4, and had one graduate that became famous, even if a blatant anti-semite, I might hesitate to stop mentioning her.

I remind all to remain respectful but on message. Issues that might be useful are;
1, Helen Thomas represents th eopposite of DIVERSITY.
2, We will fight to not allow tax money go to Wayne State as long as they honor the name Helen Thomas.
3, All her years of history are meaningless after the vitriol of her outburst. Telling jews to leave wherever they are is inexcuseable.

That's like saying that Hitler was a good soldier in Work War I, and a passable postcard painter, so let's just ignore the last 12 years of his life. Those statements did not come from "luft". She probably harbored those feelings since she was a young meesekeit

The more we talk about Ms. Thomas and her true feelings we feed all the anti-semite attitudes. We have achieved the downing of one of the 'oldest' correspondents in DC.
But remember the Rebono Shel Olam is showing us the true colors of the world. We have to remember to daven and say tehillim to protect Klall Yisroel from all those who hate us.

Her job for a living was puting people on the spot in hopes that they would say the wrong thing so she can expose it in an article... The tables have turned where she was put on the spot, and now shes exposed...

These remarks will haunt her name forever.

At this point I dont care anymore.. Use the award or not doesnt bother me, her name is tainted, she got kicked out of her beloved chair, she retired her career in the most unsatisfying way that a person can retire after such a long career. Her name will be remembered as "that reporter that said the jew should go back to germany and poland" and not as a great reportet.

This story already has a happy ending for me.

Plain an simple just Shame, what message are they sending? Hate. Great Move.
That is exactly how some people chose to destroy the truth. Is this reflecting their education? Shame on them. Shame,Shame,Shame. all this just makes the jewish people stronger and more determined.

What Wayne State doesn't want to realize is that one's actions often outshines examplary service. Had Ms. Thomas stated that African-Americans should be forced to go back to Africa, Mexicans (or any other Latino nation) back to Mexico I do not believe the school would be so forgiving. When to comments become so "inappropriate" that civilized people cannot overlook it. Clearly for Wayne State it is not when Jews are told to go back to the countries that murdered them.

BS"D

Students who truly believe in real diversity should politely TURN DOWN THE AWARD, saying they don't want their names associated with her. Thanks, but no thanks!

Keep dreaming about Wayne-State. It's not diverse, the undergraduate program is pretty much all the Arabs from Dearborn and the Schvartzes from Detroit! The grad schools are pretty decent, and there are some frum kids in the med/law schools!
