The Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, passed away on the 3rd day of Tammuz, 5754 (June 12, 1994), in New York City, more than two years after suffering a stroke that robbed him of the ability to speak or move his right side. He is considered to have been among the most influential and powerful Jewish personalities and leaders of modern times.

Thousands of students around the world are completing Mishnaic tractates, rabbinical literature and examinations of Jewish law studies in honor of the day.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to file through the stone structure over the Rebbe’s gravesite in Queens, NY Monday evening, to beseech G-d for blessings, seek spiritual inspiration and reflect on what the Rebbe’s life meant to them. Based on the experience of recent years, hundreds of thousands of faxes, letters and e-mails containing prayer requests will arrive at Chabad Headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, known simply as 770, to be read or placed at the resting place.

instead of faxing or emailing a kvittel for the rebbe to help you, learn the rebbes Torah as a zechus for his neshama

With all due respect. What you wrote about tefillos and kvitlech is accurate HOWEVER your reference to the Rebbe as “Rabbi Schneerson Z”L (without the T in the middle) and reference as “your Rebbe” and the rest of your narishe comments shmeks of CHUTZPA to a Tzadik Yesoid Oilam whom like it or not was your Rebbe too because he loved and davened even for chutzpaniaks with attitudes as youself. Being that his Yartzeit is tonight I would suggest that if your are a local to go to his Ohel un bet mechila!

learn that we can demand moshiach from hashem

To those saying that you can’t demand from Hashem:
Believe me, Hashem wants us out of galus more than we can imagine as it says – K’shegalu Yisroel Shechinah Imahem – Hashem is with us in this bitter galus. I’m not sure what’s the exact phrase but,”Kol Mah Shebaalbayis Omer Aseh CHUTZ Mitzai!! whatever a Baal bayis tells you to do you should do exept for leave, we want to be by hashems home-the Beis Hamikdash! And yes, we demand that moshiach should come. When we say: “We Want Moshiach Now!” were in other word saying – “We want Hashem revealed to us!”
As we know the Baal shem tov would ask yidden how they are to get the “B”H” out of their mouths. When we say “Moshiach now!” demanding from hashem moshiach
We are saying – we want hashem revealed in this world. anotherwards we want to unite with hashem. Now check out Yeshayohu, perek nun, posuk beis – “Why have i come and theres no man, i called out and theres no answer?,is my hand my hand too short to redeem?” hashem wants to hear our voices demanding that we want moshiach and geulah now!
    Moshiach Now!

Why is the word “yahrtzeit” in qoutes? The author(s) say he passed away- so why are they afraid of saying yahrtziet? Strange and disturbing.

If anyone who is 50 years plus and will take an honest look at how the ahavas yisroel/kiruv rechokim has been transformed to what it is today as well as the hundreds of communities that have sprung forth wih mikvaos and kosher esrablishments etc. will realize the contribution the Rebbe gave and continues as inspiration to our generation. Our post holocaust generation without the Rebbes leadership would in my opinion be very different. I know because going through the yeshiva system I remember well how kiruv was viewed then and slowly but surly despite all the criticisim of Lubavitch the Rebbes approach to ahavas yisroel became the norm. It pains me to read or hear the lack of hakaros hatov and kovod that the Rebbe deserves

three phrases gave me agmas nefesh and i hope you will believe me as ima yid like u r:

    “your rebbe”

“the rebbe did not see the future”

alleged miracles throgh the igres kodesh.

the first and second your not intrested in hearing so ill go to the third. please forget what i said before and listen.

igres kodesh is a set of around 30 chalakim with the letters the rebbe wrote in the first 25 years of his nesius. they r brachos advice and answers to questions and problems. im not intrested in making this up. if u have a problem u can write a serious letter to the rebbe and randomly put it in any page of igre kodesh. in one of the letters on the page you will have your answer. its not a joke many people have tried it. its not kishuv. its simly the rebbe finding his way of giving u an answer to your question. to find out more about this you can find people who have tried it and got an answer. the rebbe himself said that a rebbe can answer through his sfarim. and i hope u hold no more grudges against me. thank u and hatzlacha!
