Residents of the 4.98-square-mile southern portion of the Town of Blooming Grove voted overwhelmingly to incorporate as a village as a way to control development and fight high-density housing from a growing and expanding Kiryas Joel.
The Village Board unanimously appointed four people to the commission, with the option to name more to serve in the future.
Appointed were: Sonia Ayala, Julius Sas, Joe Vojta and Robert Corrado. Sas and Vojta are the husbands of Trustee Dorine Sas and Village Clerk Barbara Vojta. Attorney Joseph McKay, who is advising the board, said that is not a conflict.

Shame on you, residents of south Blooming-Grove.
