More than 300 people packed a room to hear discussion on the contentious plan to expand Congregation Kol Shofar with a new multipurpose room, kitchen and four new classrooms.
Lavey Derby, the congregation’s senior rabbi, said he can’t fathom how Jewish people could be denied access to practicing Judaism in adequate conditions. But neighbors say the project is simply too big and overly ambitious.

The Tiburon City Council is expected to make its decision on the project at its November 15th meeting.

The “rabbi” is listed as giving an introduction to a book:

    Raising Your Jewish/Christian Child
How Interfaith Parents Can Give Children the Best of Both Their Heritages
    by Lee F. Gruzen
Introduction by Lavey Derby, Joel A. Gibson, Sheila Gordon

Not the kind of “rabbi” I’d want having a big temple in my neighborhood.

Maybe it’s about the increase in cars going there on Shabbos and Yom Tov. They practice a very liberal religion even having Rosh Hashonah services in a church. It’s nothing like the Yiddishkeit that we are familiar with.
