Dwek, whose $400 million real estate empire is being sold off to pay creditors, represented himself in court and accused the liquidator, Donald M. Lomurro, of purposely filing a late e-mail notice seeking the removal of Dwek's younger brother, Avi, and his family from the house.

Lomurro identified mortgages on nine properties in Dwek's empire that he said were likely obtained through fraud, he has referred information on the loans — which total close to $10 million — to state and federal prosecutors for further investigation. The house occupied by Avi Dwek on Crosby Avenue in Ocean Township is one of the nine properties.

"Mr. Dwek, I don't understand why you are so angry," Superior Court Judge Alexander D. Lehrer said. "I don't understand what's going on here."

"I just think it was a dirty trick," Dwek said.

Later, Lomurro responded: "I'm not going to allow him to make that statement in open court. I talked to his lawyers every day this week."

During the hearing, Avi Dwek offered to pay $1,500-a-month rent to avoid being turned out by Lehrer.

Avi Dwek has lived in the house with his pregnant wife and child since 2005. He said in court that his brother had allowed him to stay rent-free with an option to buy it if he maintained the property.

This entire family is unbelievable. Who do they think they are? Hope they make the brother pay the back rent too. Solomon has some nerve complaining “dirty trick” about anything. He should be crowned king of dirty tricks.
This article makes it sound like his brother nicely offered to pay the rent. Actually, prior to this court date he flatly refused to pay and refused to leave. Let’s see how long it takes before he “forgets” to pay. He even gets a break on the rent, paying significantly less than what should be paid for that size home in that location.
No need for me to be judgmental, court system is accomplishing that just fine.
