Jerusalem – A Chabad rabbi has called to strike back at soldiers in the same way they act against settlers, predicting a civil war among Israel’s Jews.

“The army has decided to fight against the Jewish settlers of the Land of Israel,” Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpe, head of the Eretz Yisrael Shelanu movement, told Israel Radio’s religious Reshet Moreshet station last week. “So when Jews or Arabs come the way they did at Gilad Farm to destroy homes, and they shoot rubber bullets, they should have rubber bullets shot back at them. And if they come to beat people, they should be beaten back,” he said.

“I hate saying this, but it looks like it’s unfortunately approaching a state of war between Jews,” the rabbi told the radio station. Wolpe, who is not considered part of the mainstream settler leadership, also compared Defense Minister Ehud Barak to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

“There are currently two leaders who shoot at citizens – Barak and Gaddafi,” he said. “Neither will get away with it.”

The first reaction should be at 770 and they should immediately denounce this Rav and remove any association between him and the worldwide chabad movement. Next, he should be arrested for advocating violence against the brave young men and women of the IDF who are carrying out their orders from the government. This guy in an abomination and deserves to be severely punished. I’m glad you noted that he does not represent the views of 99 percent of the settlers, even those that oppose the government policies.

He is long since not a part of any Chabad organization and has been replaced as a shaliach in Kiryat Gat years ago. He heads some sort of kollel that I do not think is connected with Chabad.

He is a very intelligent rav who seems to have crossed the line into absolute mishegoss over the past 10 -15 years.

Lubavitch has long ago disassociated with him.

By the way, we love to point out that he was a Talmid of litvisher yeshivas.

    i agree with Rabbi Wolpo
“turning the other cheek” is a Cristian value, that has no place in Judaism.
the state sponsored “Terrorism” and harassment of Jews, should not go unpunished.

wake up and see that the so called “Jewish State” is fighting everything associated with Torah and Judaism, they shot jews last week, there were confirmed reports of soldiers training to kill “Jewish settlers”.

Ehud Barak is nothing short of a Jewish Hero. He is the most highly decorated soldier in the history of the IDF. He has personally and under his command saved and protected thousands of Jews in Eretz Israel and abroad. (Entebbe anyone?)

Yes, we may not agree with his politics. Yes, we would rather he have more right wing ‘religious’ oriented views. But the religious (Hareidi) leadership is at fault for isolating the religious community from the rest of Israeli society, obviating any message or ‘wisdom’ that the religious or religion has to offer Israeli society. All the religious leadership seems to be concerned with: is pitting the Haredim against the Chilonim, securing funds for their sector, continuing the cycle of poverty and dependence, and protesting some archeological site!

What people don’t realize is the tremendous pressure Israel is under from the US and Europe insofar as settelments are concerned. Do people really think that Barak and Netanyahu want to hurt the Medina?, or fellow Jews?. Sadly Israel cannot exist on it’s own economically. (Berachos 3:), so the elected officials have to maneuver the best they can…This Rav’s statements are reprehensible!

Funny how no one is condemning Barak for ordering the soldiers to shoot at Jewish people. One of the commenters above is quick to paint the Rabbi as a Rodef, when this is exactly what Barak is, by his actions SHOOTING AT JEWISH PEOPLE! perhaps the Rabbi is merely pointing out Habo Lehorgecha….

SOS Israel Chairman Rabbi Sholom Ber Wolpo clarified that his words were misconstrued and taken out of context and that under no circumstance should anyone fire upon IDF soldiers who so selflessly serve the Jewish nation.

“My words to the Moreshet radio station were said shortly after taking part in a demonstration against the IDF’s destruction of the home of a fellow soldier.” he wrote.

“They were said amidst a storm of emotions to express my fear and forewarning over the looming civil-war being brought upon us by the criminal acts of Netanyahu, who for some ratings and pressure from Obama, ordered masked soldiers to fire upon fellow Jews whose only sin was their love for the land of Israel”

“if i am not for myself …. who will be for me?” ….. “and if not now …. when?” ….. it seems like Hillel said that in preparation for today …. who will protect us but ourselves? even those who are meant to protect us have sided with our enemies!

Kol hakovod Rabbi Volpa. The army is to defend the state and not to destroy it. No soldier may follow such an illegal order made by Barak for his political gain.

AND once again, we have JEW AGAINST JEW…what is happening in the world around us? When all others are losing their heads….calm must prevail….the Muslimes have dictators, not Israel! We are a democracy and must remind the government and the people, IDF CANNOT FIRE ON IT’S OWN PEOPLE!

he is absolutely right, because the handwriting is on the wall, these criminally insane leftist traitorous cowards running Israel, have decided to chase out the 350,000 jews from their homes in YESHA, The only way to prevent this monumental disaster,is to make it perfectly clear to these traitorous Bolshevik’s
that every man woman and child will resist with all their might, even if that means a bloody civil war,
jews of YESHA start arming yourselves, and start training, because the war is coming

For all those critical of Horav Volpe I ask:

    Are you Jewish?

Anyone who criticizes Horav Volpe may as well criticize the entire Torah and all Mamamrey Chazal which state:

    HABA LEHORGOCH HASHKEM VEHARGEHU

The above is what Torah says and anyone who does not feel it’s politically correct must ask himself if he is indeed Jewish or not.

Is not a Chabad Issue it’s an issue of Are you Jewish.

The Torah which says Haba Lehargach Hashkem Vehargehu does not make any exceptions if the Haba Lehargach is a Jew or not or if he is a member of the IDF or not.

This means tat Torah explicitly not only PERMITS but ORDERS you to use deadly force to defend the life of a Yid, even if his potential killer is a Yid and even if and when he is a member of the IDF.

The above is what Horav Volpe said and it is what Torah says.
