Jerusalem – The last surviving member of Israel’s first parliament has died.

Tawfik Toubi was a founding member of the Israeli Communist Party and two of its offshoots. He died Saturday at 88.

Toubi was born in 1922 in what was then British-controlled Palestine. He served in the Knesset, or parliament, from its establishment in 1949 until he resigned in 1990.

In all, he was elected to 12 terms.

His funeral was taking place in his hometown of Haifa on Sunday.

To macher, your an ill informed idiot. There are many different factions in israel. One of them, the christian arabs for the most part are regular well behaved citizens. Quoting beaveid reshaiim rinah on all non-jewish deaths is wrong and not in line with jewish thought. Your shortsightedness and bigotry are detestable.
