New York, NY – The number of city residents uploading photos and videos as evidence to go with their 311 complaints about neighborhood nuisances, lazy landlords and even broken pay phones rose tenfold in the past few years, The Post has learned.

To date, the city’s Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications has processed 7,780 complaints with either a picture or video attached , according to data obtained by The Post.
More than half of those, 4,782, came in 2010. That’s double the 2,187 that came in 2009, and 10 times the 405 media files received in 2008..
Among city agencies that receive the most are the Sanitation and Transportation departments.
