Federal Judge Colleen McMahon heard arguments Thursday in Manhattan by lawyers for the four men.

The trial featured lengthy testimony by an undercover informant assigned in 2008 to monitor a mosque about an hour north of New York City. Agents arrested the men in 2009 after they planted fake explosive devices supplied by the FBI in the Bronx.

The defense argued Thursday that there’s no evidence of premeditation. The government countered that one defendant was the instigator, and that the others were ready and willing to join in.

This case is another example of waste of Taxpayers money by the Government, these defendants never had the means or the money to carry out any Bomb plot, the Gov knew it, they just wanted some publicity to show us that the Gov protects us, Let the Gov look for Real Threats and Not Waste our money on such cases

All else being equal, cops and prosecutors seem to prefer manufacturing criminals to actually having to leave the doughnut shop to catch real world miscreants. It makes for cleaner, more tidy evidence that way.
