Monsey, NY – A toddler who would have turned 2 years old next week was killed Monday night in an accident at his home, Ramapo police said. The child, Mordechai Goldman, was found dead in a closet in the home on Route 306, police said.

Investigators suspect the boy was playing with a sibling when a shelf in the closet fell on him. An adult was in the home at the time of the accident. Police do not suspect foul play.
Lt. Mark Emma calls it “a freak accident and a terrible, terrible tragedy.”
