Klein, who began work with East Ramapo in July at a salary of $144,000, received a retroactive salary increase to $168,000 for his eight months as head of special student services. As interim superintendent, he will make $242,000.

Oustatcher will serve the rest of the school year as interim director of special student services. Whether he will remain in that position was not made clear Thursday.

The board approved the measure in a 6-0 vote.

Trustees Stephen Price, Suzanne Young-Mercer and JoAnne Thompson were not present.

Though school district attorney Albert D’Agostino read the motion to remove Oustatcher aloud, Aron Wieder, school board vice president, officially made the motion and was seconded by Trustee Eliyahu Solomon.

Wieder would not comment on the board’s decision Thursday evening.

Lucky East Ramapo, now they too, like NYC, can have a ruined educational system.

Aron Wieder and the rest of the frum board (except the president) are doing an amazing job for all ER tax payers as well as the kids that go to PS…. Keep up the good work

good job? maybe. I just wonder which daas torah they ask. They mostly work with the approach of “daas balei batim”, as if being another non Jewish community activist. They tend to forget we ARE different, and being looked at different.

A Very dangerous game indeed. (Colton School/Belz, and later that other school for New Square, just an example. Its no secret it didnt smess right…. )

hashem should just watch over them/us. This should be handled by community elders. This is a play of Russian roulette.

Just read the comments in today’s Journal News, to see how all of this is being excepted by our neighbors.

I also pay high taxes, but THIS is against halacha, and what history has thought us on how not to behave in golus.

I read the ignorant comment in the JN, one even thinks that the board members get paid. these buildings are built to handle 2 thousand kids, they average less then 500 kids… They could close 2/3 of the buildings, and still have plenty of room , that’s a savings of principles secretaries heat maintance and much much more per building, you think we ( the frum) want to run ” their schools”? We left it to them and for 7500 kids the budget is close to 200 mil, that’s crazy… The best thing for the kids is for us to take control and cut useless expensives and have plenty of money for good education.

Narrow minded… When is the lady time you walked into tant of these schools ? I challenge you…

As for us being involved, I along with 90% of the frum would have no problem with the parents of ERSD to secede… If they don’t want us involved, then they should make their own school district, I completely would understand if they did that, I wouldn’t want th running our yeshivos

I don’t know East Ramapo from East Cupcake, but $242,000 is a lotta dough.

Why did they vote to fire the superintendent when the 3 or 4 other members were not present? The new superintendent was the owner of one of the agencies where the special ed kids would be tutored. That is a conflict of interest if I ever saw one. He owned RIISE and the community is up in arms!
