    Albany, NY – New York winery owners who complained to the attorney general’s office that liquor store owners were threatening to freeze them out are upset because an investigation went nowhere.

    The winery owners said the 2009 threats were in retaliation for their campaign for a law to allow grocery owners to sell wine. Winery owners say liquor stores boycotted their products and some lost thousands of dollars in the past two years.

    A representative from the group of wine-makers and grape owners said an antitrust probe seemed warranted, and then-Attorney General Andrew Cuomo launched an inquiry, but found there was not enough evidence.

    Liquor store representatives say the probe came back empty because there was nothing to find.

    This doesn’t pertain to the Kosher wines and liqueurs industry. We have open markets with many many vendors and good competition. Why, look at the HUGE selection Kosher wines, all from so many different vendors…
