Miami Beach, FL – Police have surrounded the Sheridan Financial Center building on 41st Street after a bank robbery nearby.

Shortly after arriving, police arrested one person. Then, the situation took a dramatic turn.
“We got a call that there was a bank robbery in progress. Within 30 or 40 seconds of the officers’ arrival, they placed a subject in custody. While they were placing him in custody, the bank started getting phone calls, saying that if we don’t let the subject go, that they were going to come out shooting,” Hernandez said. “Shortly after that, we get a building across the street at 41st and Sheridan, where people starting running out, saying that there’s a guy with a gun inside the building — two people with guns inside the building.”
Forty-first Street, also known as Arthur Godfrey Road, is closed from Prairie to Pine Tree Drive right now. Police say all Commercial Bank employees are safe and no hostages are being held there.
Police have surrounded the Sheridan Center and are working on getting the suspected gunmen out of the building. “We evacuated that building immediately,” Hernandez said. “We set up a perimeter around the building. We have SWAT team putting a plan together to go inside the building to secure the two subjects we think are inside and also assist with evacuating any people that might be inside the building.” [NBC6]

At Least One Barricaded Inside, and the FBI has been Called in to Assist. Additionally, police with guns drawn were seen storming other nearby banks.

There is absolutely no hostages, and The suspect has been arrested and is not a United States citizen, However the FBI is Continuing to look for another person who called in at same time with threats.
Well we’re glad this whole thing is over, had a headache from the helicopters over miami beach for 7 plus hrs. What’s amazing is how did those two other gunmen get out of the building, I reckon they must have stashed their guns somewhere & walked out as if they were patients at one of the doctors offices or something. There were hundreds of cops, fbi, swat teams & these guys just walked away, makes u wonder how safe we really are!!!!
Iv receieved word that there are a bunch of rumors out there ….at no time were there any hostages …the police were simply clearing out the building bec of numerous threats…no one was ever held hostage …yes there were jews in the building and they were told to stay in place butthats not called being held hostage …as to say by the gunman ..only by the situation
