Police could not tell the gender of the dead person and did not know if a crime had been committed. Deputy Police Commissioner Daniel Jackson said the body was “literally a skeleton.”
The county medical examiner’s office removed the skeleton for examination. [AP]

The medical examiner’s office said that based on its finding on bone structure, the skeleton was a white woman about 70 years old, police said Wednesday.
The preliminary profile matched a missing-person case from last summer of an elderly white woman from White Plains that was reported missing by her family in August. [AP]
I hope it wasn’t the stores founder, Dale Blooming.
anonymous 5:32 you are a rashah. Half his life he had to watch his wife spend his hard earned money in Bloomingdales. Not that he is dead does he still have to see that. Let him have some menuchah. At least scatter the remains by the entrance to Home Depot.
They should cremate his remains and scatter them at the entrance of the mall so his wife will visit him at least twice a week.
When she does exit he will still get yelled at for not waiting where he was told to wait. No self respecting women will accept death as an excuse for that.
The poor sap is still waiting for his wife to exit the dressing room. We all know the feeling.
May he rest in peace.
