Netanyahu, who was accompanied by Defense Minister Ehud Barak, made the comments during a tour of one of the Iron Dome batteries in Ashkelon after receiving a briefing on the system’s operation by a soldier.

During the tour, Netanyahu also said that the Cabinet on Sunday instructed the IDF to continue its actions in Gaza until rocket fire on Israel ceases, and that he “hopes this is Hamas’s intention.”

Looks like each box has a maximum of 24 missiles. So if the chayos fire 25, then what?

Halivey, that this system was 100 percent accurate, but if they fire 25 at least 24 potential disasters were avoided.

The system does not target every incoming rocket. The radars calculate the size of projectile and the location it will hit. Then the system only targets large sized rockets like Grads and only if those large Grads will hit a populated zone. The photo only shows a single battery system but there are several others placed in proper locations. If the system runs out of missiles, there are ground crews near by that will quickly arm new missiles. Iron Dome also has a secondary role which serves even greater role than knocking down Hamas rockets, it detects the location of Hamas rocket launching team and then sends the data to the air force which then send fighter jets to bomb these rocket launching teams very fast that they don’t have time to hide.

Based on its performance thus far I think its fair to say the Iron Dome is quite leaky!

The technology from the Iron Dome Missile, was modeled after the USA’s Patriot Missile system, some of which were sent to EY during the Frist Gulf War, in early 1991.
