New York, NY – This Passover season, Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty (Met Council) will provide 50,000 New York City families with over 2.7 million pounds of kosher food. Met Council has also provided over $1,000,000 worth of food vouchers for more than 3,000 of the most vulnerable in New York City this Passover season. These vouchers can be used to purchase perishable items and products in local grocery stores and serve as an added means of support for severely poor households for whom a monthly food package is just not enough.
Through a network of Jewish Community Councils and food pantry partners throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Met Council distributes to meet each neighborhood’s unique needs this holiday season.
