The airport was completely flooded by the March 11 tsunami.
Another video filmed on top of a waterfront building in Kamaishi, an industrial town in Iwate Prefecture, showed coast guard officials watching a giant vessel moving towards them until it was later grounded by a building.
The footage also included a scene of the tsunami devastating Kesennuma, a fishing town in Miyagi Prefecture, where over 2000 people have died or are listed as missing as a result of the disaster.
As of April 4, a total of 14,358 people have been confirmed dead across Japan by National Police Agency, while 11,889 are still listed as missing.
