The Port Authority is verifying what has been described as a “suspicious situation” due to a bomb parcel that set of the alarm of a scanner used to identify explosives in a building used to sort cargo at Newark Airport.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s spokesman, Steve Coleman, reported the news, specifying that the area is not near the passenger terminals.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey gave the all clear after they sent a bomb squad on Friday to investigate suspicious cargo at Newark Liberty International Airport, a Port Authority spokesman said on Friday.
