The U.S. Department of Transportation said it is prohibiting North Carolina-based SkyExpress from operating interstate transportation. It said in a statement Tuesday the bus company violated multiple federal safety regulations.

The SkyExpress bus swerved off northbound Interstate 95 early Tuesday, hit an embankment and overturned about 30 miles north of Richmond.

The driver was charged with reckless driving and police say his fatigue was a factor in the crash. Federal documents show the company has a particularly poor safety record.

The Government would not let an airline operate with similar multiple safety violations. Yet, it lets thousands of buses operate on our highways with impunity, including bus drivers with drug/alcohol problems, criminal backgrounds, drivers with safety violations, unsafe motor coaches with defective brakes, tires, etc. How long is the public going to tolerate this nonsense?

    sad very sad.

but this is a wake up call the people who scream no more regulation.

The problem is not to must regulation. the issue is there are good regulation and bad regulation and obsolete . Some regulations made sense where they where implemented and now are useless and just cost money.

each regulation must stay or die on its own merits
