New York – Was Palin Pandering by Wearing Star of David Necklace During NY Visit?

New York – You couldn’t miss it, the big Star of David hanging around Sarah Palin’s neck as she toured the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on Wednesday.

NBC New York asked Palin about the significance just as she boarded her bus outside Fox Newschannel to head off to Boston.

“Today is the 44th anniversary of Jerusalem being reunited,” she said. “We want to call attention to that.”

The pendant is in every photo she took with fans and supporters and can be seen in every sound-bite captured by television crews.

Some analysts wondered if the possible Republican candidate for president was actually wearing the necklace to play to the hometown audience as she hop-scotched around New York on her national bus tour.

The reunification of Jerusalem under Israeli control followed the Six Day War in 1967.

The event has become a national holiday in Israel, observed this year on June 1 and is marked by state ceremonies, memorial services and parades.

The day is also observed globally in Jewish schools.

    Isn’t politics all about pandering?

Who cares if she was pandering?? Has any other person who was running for president ever worn an Israeli flag?? She is at least as pro-Israel as any other front runner.

Before everyone jumps down her throat alleging that she is pandering to “Jewish NY”, let us all remember that she has worn a mogen david many times before, she regularly wears it on tv etc…
Let us all remember that the first time many of us saw her was a profile of her in her Alaska office, and there on the window was an Israeli flag. She wasn’t being interviewed by a Jewish or NY tv show, it is just the way she is.
At this point anyone is better than Obama (except Ron Paul)

When she was governor she had numerous “Jewish” objects in her office as well as an Israeli flag displayed.

How come the leftist press wasn’t making a big deal when Hussein Obama refused to wear an American Flag lapel pin? We should have known it was because of his utter contempt of the greatness of this country.

Nobody panders better than Sarah Palin. All it takes is a few choice words, meaningless symbolism and CHA-CHING, her for-profit, non-political, corporation rakes in even more money in book sales and merchandising with those ridiculous tea-bag hats.

Her “fans” say that her detractors hate her and are afraid of her.

Sadly, these are the people who are too ignorant to realize that nobody is afraid of her. We are not angry at her, or hateful towards her. We LAUGH at her… and her fans.

    What has she accomplished? Nothing.

As Mayor she came in with a budget surplus and left with a $50 million deficit after building a hockey rink (for her kids) which runs in the red to this day.

As Governor she supported the “bridge to nowhere” until it became unpopular with the rest of us. Then she stopped the project but spent the $400 million on other pet projects for which she has NEVER accounted for. Then, halfway into her term, when the heat got turned up, she QUIT!

So, can someone please name ONE thing she can list as an accomplishment?

Now she tours around drawing a salary from Fox News and selling trinkets. She’ll never run, but you idiots will keep giving her your money. LOL

Why is it a question when she does it? Why can’t a conservative politician show solidarity without being questioned? Every politician panders, at least she is pro Jewish, among other relics in her office. Rather her than a smooth talking socialist. Jews should be thanking her not bashing her.

This is a non story. She has worn a Mogen Dovid soooo many times before, NBC seems to have made this up to try and embarrass her, it is not working.

If you want to see a panderer look at madam Hillary. First she kisses Suha Arafat then when she wants to becoming a Senator from New York she is the best friend of Israel and the Jews and then she becomes Secretary of State for Hussein Obama and she is again a friend of the Arabs. Sarah Palin is the real thing and she would be great for Jews and Israel.

Pander? Or unafraid of expressing a core belief… This is not to say that she is quite ready for big time in the white house, but Palin-detractors need not get their dander up – it will play out the way Hashem determines it should, and it sure won’t be our vote in the voting booth that’ll do us good…

Palin is full of baloney. Remember what she did to McCain in ’08. If she wins the Republican nomination, Obama wins the election on a silver platter.

Typical left wing media trying to make trouble where there isn’t any. Then again the dumb Jews who voted for Obama will fall for this too.

Poor Sarah Palin. If she wears a Jewish star, it’s “pandering.” If she supports Israel, it’s for some suspicious reason. Heck, if she slung a rifle over her shoulder, and single-handedly held off an advancing horde of Hezbollah fighters attacking the border from Lebanon, she’d get no credit for it. Barack Obama hangs out with, and even hires, openly anti-Israel idealogues, pushes Israel for more concessions in exchange for nothing… and the Jews vote for him. I don’t get it, but at least it seems to refute the stereotype that Jews are clever.

All of you who hate Sarah are quite jealous of her She is a force to reckon with as of yet. She is honest and is not afraid to speak her mind and tell it like it is.

The idea that one might wear a Jewish star pendant goes way beyond an Israeli Flag. It is a gesture that implies that she is acually of the mindset that she has a share in the Jewish inheritance as well. That may be that she has a good association and fondness for the Jewish people. I am aggreived that she might choose such a gesture. It indicates that she thinks that walking into a highly Jewish precinct that she can display our own “light” as her own and that she thinks that her association with our People is beyond political and personal friendships and shared interests. If Sarah P. wanted to show solidarity with our People, why not just go to a kosher restaurant or spend some time with some Jewish persons?

Out maybe its because it was yom yerushalayim. After all, it what she actually answered the reporter when asked about it!

I guess that’s all it takes for you guys to believe someone is pro-Jews: wear a Star of David.

With a quick google search you can all find pictures of Britney Spears, Demi Moore, Elvis Presley, Floyd Mayweather, & Colin Farrell wearing Star of David pendants as well. It means nothing more than someone thought (probably their celebrity stylists) it was a cool looking piece of jewelry to wear with whatever outfit they had on at the time.

So…what do you all think? Britney Spears for President?

No, not pandering. Pandering is a politician who follows the Arab tradition of telling a different message to every audience.
