Washington – Top congressional Democrats are calling for an ethics investigation — and the truth — about whether scandalized New York Rep. Anthony Weiner broke any rules or used government resources to send lewd pictures over the Internet.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says she’s disappointed in Weiner’s conduct, which he confessed Monday. He apologized, but refused to resign.
Rep. Steve Israel, the House Democrats’ campaign chief, said the New York congressman had “embarrassed himself, his family and the House.” A spokeswoman for Democratic whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland said Hoyer urged Weiner to come clean about the messages and photos he sent on Twitter.
Last July, Weiner married Huma Abedin, a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

He came clean, albeit belatedly. Although his behavior was clearly inappropriate by halachic or contemporary moral standards, it certainly doesn’t warrant the kind of reaction he is getting. He should be admonished by not forced to resign.
For once, something interesting. It bears investigating just what Democrats are afraid of. Normally, they circle the wagons around (see Rangel, Clinton, etc.)
Wiener married a Muslim woman.
He also claims to be pro-Israel.
This latest incident fits his behaviors. With friends like these, who needs enemies !?!
On one hand, I will be sorry to see him go – if it comes to that. He is one of the best friends Israel has had. He has been a good friend to the Jewish community – even in regards to the Rubashkin case – he is outraged about the huge sentance Rubashkin is getting. And he and other politicians are working on that case.
I wish this fiasco blows over.
Compared to what other politicians are doing in their personal lives, this is small in comparison.
What he does in his personal life should be between him and his wife. These woman were enjoying following him on Twitter. He did not cause them harm – he caused harm to himself and his wife. It’s awfully embarrasing. I am glad I am not in his shoes.

Although, just because he admitted to this stuff, who says there aren’t more skeletons in the closet? He’s lied already many times before. And with friends like these……. This is a much-needed reminder that Hakadosh Baruch Hu is the only one to rely on.
To #11 - Your remarks about McCain having an affair, as well as Lincoln having an affair with a man, are unfounded and unsubstantiated allegations and rumors, which have never been proven. Without definitive proof, fuel should not be added to the fire!
There you go again, turn the tables and talk about everyone else BUT the person and HIS unique situation! This was going on for THREE YEARS! I knew Weiner ages ago from Manhattan Beach, he and Chuckie were dreck then and still are! If you listen to what he said you will hear him say that “I got caught”! That is what he is REALLY sorry about, this pompous as* points his crooked little finger at everyone else and denigrates them all the time! Turn about is fair play!
