Belgium – An anti-Semitic column by an anonymous writer in the Zwinkrant, a Flemish regional free publication distributed in Knokke, a seaside resort on the Belgian coast famous for its beaches, says “that it is no wonder that we do not love Jews, they consider themselves supermen like the Nazis.”

The article reads: “Did you ever try to walk on the seawall in May? It seems that the whole Diaspora troops gather there. Men with their hair curls, their funny aprons and black hats, women in wigs and long stockings, the whole world belongs to them. Do they let you walk ?  No way. We are the chosen people. And then they wonder why we don’t really love them.”

The column also refers to Jews wearing the kippah in the West Bank settlements “who don’t stop annexing lands at the expense of Palestinians.”

According to the Jewish magazine Joods Actueel, the city’s authoritiers decided to remove the magazine from distribution. Mayor Leopold Lippens deplored the incident and declared:”What nonsense is this? On the coast, everyone is welcome, we are all Belgians, this can not but luckily the Zwin Newspaper barely seen or read.”

What a bunch of sick typical European trash. The Europeans think they are hot stuff. Too bad most of them live in the stone age with the Flintsones.

At one time, Belgium was very friendly to the Yidden. However, they seem to have very little tolerance for observant Jews.

Europe has a history of being, and currently is, a hotbed of antisemitism. I’m not surprised at this posting. The European Arabs will be the new Nazis. Public sentiment is anti-Israel and the line is very easily blurred into antisemitism. When I see the inklings of what occurred 75 years ago beginning to rear it’s ugly head, I get chills.

Heimeshe yidden come to Knokke very often, it’s not far away from Antwerp. And indeed most of the Flemish goyim are friendly with us, but unfortunately there is a rise in animosity in recent years mostly due to the anti-semitism of North African muslims living in Belgium.

it was not long ago when various VIN commenters were celebrating the fact that the Belgians had passed an anti-Muslim law. Now, they turn on the Jews you cry.

People need to understand that religious freedom for all is good for us too and should be defended and fought for.

Once the Satmar Rebbe zya was walking with the gabbaim and they asked a goy to step out of the way for the Rebbe – the Rebbe told them they were wrong, because the street belongs to the goy, and we Jews are only guests. Heimishe yidden have to learn, even if we are in our neighborhoods like BP, Willi, Monsey, Skver, KJ, etc. AND even if we are in Eretz Yisrael, that we are in galus and must have respect for our non-Jewish hosts. This article should not be seen as antisemitism but rather as mussar.

to #12 – it is a local paper, do you really think they have such high editorial standards? Do you read every article in your local paper?
