Albany, NY – Update: State Senate Not Expected To Vote On Gay Marriage Today

    As senators arrived for what is scheduled to be the final day of Albany’s legislative session, they passed crowds of mobilized citizens holding signs and arguing on the capitol’s third floor.

    One Republican senator told NY1 that a vote on same-sex marriage may not come until Wednesday or Thursday.

    Again and again and again, what has been framed as ‘rights’ is merely a fight to change a definition.
    If you want to argue that any two adults should be given the rights and perks of a married couple, go ahead. If you want to argue that government should not be in the marriage business, and no perks should be given to a couple just because their married – go ahead, but the current argument is not about rights of any sort! It is about changing the definition of marriage.
    The more people realize this, the easier it will be to completely ignore all the professional demonstrators who know nothing more then to scream ‘bigot’, ‘homophobe’, and ‘racist’.
    Please petition your senators to have common sense and leave marriage alone.
