As reported previously on VIN News, Abby found herself in the public spotlight this past December when she launched a YouTube campaign to raise money for the soup kitchen, which brought in the astonishing sum of over $7,000 in just ten days.
Abby’s quest to do her part for Masbia began after she volunteered at Masbia’s Rego Park location and decided to raise money to help feed the hungry. Setting an ambitious goal of $10,000 Abby donated her own maaser money, ran bake sales and saved deposit bottles, but realizing she needed greater exposure, she put together the famed YouTube clip which helped Abby not only reach, but surpass her goal.
“We are incredibly proud of Abby’s drive, compassion and generosity,” said Sarah Hofstetter, Abby’s mother, in an interview with VIN News. “She is an amazing kid and we continue to be blown away by all she does. Abby is still actually collecting donations, which is wonderful!”
Very nice…She is heading in the same direction as her parents and grandparents. The Hofstetter family are well know Baalei Tzedaka and $hare their wealth with many frum organizations.
