Obama made the comments at a high-dollar fundraiser at a Washington hotel hosted by Americans in Support of a Strong U.S.-Israel Relationship.

The appearance came a month after he clashed publicly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the road to peace between Israel and the Palestinians. That handed ammunition to Republican presidential hopefuls who accused Obama of insufficient support for Israel.

Obama assured donors that his goals are the same as theirs — a secure Jewish state living in peace with its neighbors — even if there might be “tactical disagreements” along the way.

Even at a time of tumult in the Middle East, Obama said, “one inviolable principle will be that the United States and Israel will always be stalwart allies and friends.” But with the peace process badly stalled and no clear way forward, Obama also said the U.S. and Israel had to look at the situation with “fresh eyes.”

Obama’s comments came at the first of two fundraisers for his Obama Victory Fund Monday night. The sold-out dinner attracted about 80 people paying for tickets between $25,000 and $35,800.

Speaking at a second fundraiser with the DNC Mid-Atlantic Finance Committee, Obama tried to encourage supporters to remember the excitement and promise of 2008 even if he’s no longer a fresh face and “people make fun of hope and change” and say that change didn’t come fast enough. He said there’s work left to do.

About 100 people were expected to attend, paying between $10,000 and $35,800.

The president has been featured at a string of recent fundraisers. He attended three in Miami and one in Puerto Rico last week. He heads for New York later this week where he will attend two more events with donors.

Obama may actually believe what he says. The problem is that he is experimenting with the fate of Israel; he won’t be around to pick up the remains after Israel collapses because of all his playing around. Same problem with all his experimenting with our own country, good ol’ USA, it is going to take years to unravel the damage his utopian meddling has done.

He should stop playing around, we all know his views on Israel. We need a strong republican out there.

Honestly we don’t want to hear it anymore. Donors don’t want to hear it anymore. What we want is to “SEE IT”. Actions speak much louder than words. So Mr. Prez, since you’ve been in office you haven’t once visited Israel. I bet you can’t explain THAT to the donors. I bet you weren’t thinking about your donors when you decided that Bibi should come crawling to you instead of you making an official visit, one that every US president has made before you. Oh yeah, you did go to the middle east, to the Arab countries but NOT once to Israel. Yeah, go explain THAT to Jewish Donors. Hey OBAMA, they are not as dumb as you think they are. And in case you haven’t yet noticed all these years neither is Israel.

The only ones more delusional than The Anointed One were the foolish liberal Jews (those people whose Liberalism is their religion & Judaism is rarely ever seen!) who paid money to hear this manure!

Obama promised change. That’s all that’s left in my pockets! I guess he fulfilled his promises to us. He’s without a doubt as bad or worse than Jimmy Carter. That’s why I’m raising Cain – Herman Cain that is.

Words doesn’t mean a thing; its actions that count, and his actoins were always against the state of Israel.

    Remember in November.

“Washington -Seeking to reassure Jewish donors amid questions over his support for Israel, President Barack Obama pledged Monday that his administration would “devote all of its creative powers” to trying to bring about Mideast peace.”………..What the heck are “creative powers”? We don’t want a solution that looks good. We want real security not “creative” security. At this point don’t talk, DO!

if he does not talk about the issue on “Pollard” we should not hear what he has to say. as with regard to “Israel” he his a double standard, trying to talk one way to Israelis and one way to Palestinians.

Pres GW Bush press conference with Abbas on May 26, 2005:
quote: ” Israel should not undertake any activity that contravenes road map obligations or prejudice final status negotiations with regard to Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem. Therefore, Israel must remove unauthorized outposts and stop settlement expansion. The barrier being erected by Israel as a part of its security effort must be a security, rather than political, barrier. And its route should take into account, consistent with security needs, its impact on Palestinians not engaged in terrorist activities. As we make progress toward security, and in accordance with the road map, Israeli forces should withdraw to their positions on September the 28th, 2000. Any final status agreement must be reached between the two parties, and changes to the 1949 Armistice Lines must be mutually agreed to. A viable two-state solution must ensure contiguity on the West Bank, and a state of scattered territories will not work. ( There must also be meaningful linkages between the West Bank and Gaza). This is the position of the United States today; it will be the position of the United States at the time of final status negotiations.”
