On Fox News Sunday, Rep. Bachmann reiterated calls for an amendment that would define marriage as between a man and woman.

Rep. Bachmann claimed that while New York’s new law approving same-sex marriages which was signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday was up to the people of New York, the debate over defining marriage was a state issue and a federal issue. She added that federal law will trump state law on this issue.

States have, under the 10th Amendment, the right to pass any law they like. Also, federal officials at the federal level have the right to also put forth a constitutional amendment, said Bachmann.

She said her support for states’ rights as well as a federal amendment was entirely consistent.

NYS did pass the Gay Marriage Law, however religious institutions are exempt from housing or performing these marriages. If a Rabbi declines to perform the wedding, that’s ok and he will not be fined or anything else.

So what is problem with passing this law? No one if forced to do anything they don’t believe in. This is a democratic country.

In general she seems like a strong candidate. Good Republican/conservative values and pro Israel.

All liberals and democrats will not vote for her. Why? Because though she says what she means and it is all good, liberals vote for PA sympathizers and socialists despite what they say. And yes, I’m sure she’s not perfect, but her values are aligned with mine more than a gay leaning dem.

(response to #3) “what is wrong with this law?!” This entire concept is considered an abomination according to Torah, therefore every frum Jew should be against it.

Typical Republican. States Rights all the way, unless the States do something she doesn’t like. Then the Sacred Constitution has to become a PostIt note board for her partisan issues.

Thank you Ms. Bachmann, we appreciate your support. Now sit down and be quiet.

This is the same woman tells more lies than truths. Did you see her interview today when they asked her about it? She was like a deer caught in the headlights. It was so sad, I actually felt bad for her. A devout and pathological LIAR flailing around while she drowned in her own lies. So sad.

She should stick to what she does best. Getting crazy people to come out and vote against liberals. That’s all she is good for, but she does it well. The foil-hat wearing crazies do get a vote in this country too!
