The demonstrators were trying to breach a border fence on May 15. The Lebanese Armed Forces reported that seven people died and 111 were injured.

Ban Ki-moon said a preliminary report by the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Lebanon also accused the demonstrators who threw stones and petrol bombs of carrying out “a provocative and violent act.”

In a report to the Security Council circulated Wednesday, Ban said both the Israelis and the demonstrators violated the U.N. resolution that ended the Israeli-Hezbollah war in 2006.

Ban called on Israeli forces not to use live fire in such situations and on Lebanese forces to prevent such incidents.

Didn’t all the protestors pass by UN stations to get to the border???? And they did nothing! And yet, the protestors are wrong for throwing bombs and soldiers are wrong for defending against those bombs. Hmmm… Let’s pass a resolution making the UN officially ineffective and non deserving of our tax dollars.

Finally what we knew all along the UN talks out of both sides of its mouth. Paragraph one says they were unarmed. The other paragraph says the threw stones and petrol bombs.
Secondly if someone is breaking into your home do you have to ask him first if he has a concealed wepon before you shoot him. Does isreal have to allow these “activits” into Israel first so they can search the for wepons. UN change your name to UI – united idiots.

Border guards in both the United States and Mexico have on occasion opened fire on people trying to run the border. No UN investigation ensued.

How can they be described as “unarmed demonstrators” if they threw petrol bombs (aka Molotov cocktails) I would love to see what South Korea would do if 100 “unarmed” North Koreans attempted to cross the DMZ.

Jews who fight back and take the same responsible reaction that any nation would
under similar circumstances is considered Excessive Force by the UN. What else is new

Oh Yes, Israel used excessive force, but the UN does not recognize the inhumane treatment of Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen and the entire Islamic nations of their people upon each other! What a useless organization the UN is.

If the UN is upset about this, then I suggest they take a look at Mexico and see what
they do to people that try to enter their country illegally. OY VEY!!! So I guess what
the UN is saying is that Israel does not have the right to protect itself when presented
with bodily injury by a mob. Gee, sounds like a problem to me. Got to tell you that if
someone is throwing petrol bombs in my direction I’m going to use whatever force I
have at my disposal to save my life. Sounds like a no brainer!!!

I think it’s about time Israel leaves the U.N. Not one word from the UN about all the Arabs killing each other, but if we try to protect ourselves we are condemn.
