Brooklyn, NY - Chai Lifeline Offering Emotional Support In Wake of Boy’s Disappearance

.Leibby Kletzky, 9, was last seen at his school, Yeshiva Boyan in Borough Park, around 5 p.m. Monday after coming back from a field trip.Brooklyn, NY - The events of the past twenty four hours have left the entire Jewish community in a state of shock and fear as people struggle to process the reality of the disappearance of a nine year old boy walking home from day camp.  Chai Lifeline, whose Project C.H.A.I. offers comprehensive training on helping children, families and communities cope with tragedies is offering their services to the community by manning a 24 hour hotline for parents and teachers.

Dr. Norman Blumenthal, director of Project C.H.A.I. told VIN News that the hotline, with a staff of four professionals, is ready to help parents deal with the current crisis.

“We have already sent a crisis team down to the Boyan Day Camp,” said Dr. Blumenthal.  “We are helping everyone there cope with the reality of the situation as we know it.”

The hotline, which can be reached at 917-710-8399 offers guidance to parents and teachers in helping their children and students process the current news in a way that will protect them from misinformation while allowing them to preserve their sense of safety and security.
