Danbury, CT – Ex Wife: Levi Perfectly Sane; Felt Rejected By Own Community; Wanted Fame

Murder suspect Levi Aron is escorted out of a New York Police Department precinct in Brooklyn, New York, July 14, 2011. REUTERS/Brendan McDermidDanbury, CT – Accused child-killer Levi Aron is a “cold sociopath” who’s all too fit to stand trial, his incarcerated ex-wife told The Post yesterday.

“His soul is doomed forever,” Diana Diunov, 38, said from a federal prison in Danbury, Conn., of the man she divorced in 2005. “He will have Yom Kippur forever in his life!”

Diunov, in jail for wire fraud, said Aron should not be able to claim insanity.

“Trust me, this man is sane!” she said.

Raised by overly strict parents who became religious later in life, Aron “was very lonely because he was rejected by his own community,” she said.

He was ostracized because he wasn’t born into religious life, and “because he was slow, low-income,” he was not considered a “prospective future son-in-law.”

The community was “prejudiced to people like Levi and all others with mental problems, without trying to help them,” she said.

As a husband, he was “nice to me, very soft-spoken, very soft manners,” she said. “He was nice to my older daughter; she was then 10 years old.”
Things ultimately didn’t work out between them.

But for all his arrested development, Aron is perfectly capable of telling the difference between right and wrong, she said.

“He killed an innocent child for no reason but a desire to become famous,” she claimed.

“He always believed that he can become a famous singer one day. That he can write songs.”

At 35, with “no prospect of any fame,” and “also after the big case of Casey Anthony, he decided to try his luck,” she speculated.

“For him, the meeting of this little poor boy was a chance to shine into media and make himself known,” she said. “He probably believes that he can get off by work of lawyers and God knows who else.”

As she awaits her pending release, Diunov said she still does feel for her ex.

“I have two girls myself and, trust me, as a parent, I am so angry with Levi,” she said. “But as a friend, I grieve for him.”

But again and again she repeated her disgust with the possibility that Aron won’t be held responsible for his actions.

“So far, they are hammering him and saying that he may be a child molester, may be a loner, may be this, may be that,” she said.

“Nobody said that he is troubled man with the sociopathic behavior, but he is — and it is doesn’t fall in the category of ‘not guilty by reason of insanity.’ He is sane.”

Just last week the Post spoke to his ex wife in Memphis. Which is truly his ex? Did he have more than one?

I’m sorry…plenty of baalie tushuva without money, with mental problems, who may not always be embraced by the frum community don’t go around killing little boys. What kind of BS is this woman spewing? …blaming part of his issues on not having pre marital relations? This woman is as almost as much of a nut as her ex!

“he was not considered a “prospective future son-in-law.”
Come on, he was a son-in-law twice, many people don’t get even one chance, and why take the words of a woman who tried to plea insanity in her own case.

This woman is smarter than we gave her credit for. She is dead on. He is a classic calculating sociopath and legally sane!

Yes, Aron had two failed marriages.

This woman is onto something. The article in short could have read “ex wife says ex-husband was a loser so he tried to attain a name for himself through murder”.

The heimeshe community is about to come to a painful realization that part of this psychopath’s behavior was the result of dysfunction within frum families. Its not all sweetness and light, except for the fact that “rigidly orthodox” families tend not to acknowledge mental problems out of a sense of shame and actually sweep it under the rug and hide the facts to maintain a facade of “normalacy”.

This case gets deeper and stranger by the day.

Will anyone understand that if we don’t look at how we treat the Levi Arons among us we will grow more of them? This woman is repeating Arons words to her. He was embittered by the way he was treated by his community, and later his bitterness turned violent; no, not everyone’s bitterness will turn violent, but there are many, many people out there bitter for the same exact reasons she gives.

What breathtaking BS. This lady is no prize herself, she is a convicted criminal, much worse than the other ex-wife in Memphis who is only a flake.

I am a BT and my kids made very successful shidduchim with choshuve families.

Babishka, thanks. I was trying to articulate that… I know so many wonderful BT’s, that have integrated beautifully. As well, I know many FFB’s who have serious mental issues… who may or may not be capable of comitting a similar crime…

Unbelievable how people just lap up such whitewashing!

This woman is apparently a looney. (VIN edited the version that appears in NY Post.) There may be some truth in her words but most of what she says is drivel. She’s getting her 10 minutes of fame by making a fool of herself and trying to make a fool of all of us (orthodox Jews).

First of all, no one asked you.
Second, it is extremely difficult for baalei tshuva and their children to get shidduchim!
I’m a bt and when I was in yeshiva, I already knew much, much….much more than most guys learning in most yeshivas in the US, but I still can’t find a shidduch!
One time I was at someones shabbos seudah and his ffb, lakewood kollel-learning son in law said “wow, a bt? youre just like yisro!” so I said no, yisro was a goy and oved avodah zara, I’m a yid and I was once an am haaretz, kind of like you are now!”

There were reports that not only was he married twice but he was engaged thereafter and that the “kallah” later broke off the engagement. In each of these relationships he pursued women with children and that very scary. I wonder if this marriage to Diana (who is now incarcerated for a 1.7 milllion heist) was to “obtain a green-card”. I wonder if this marriage was a “normal one” (to put it delicately) or as a brother-sister relationship as the subsequent wife described. Wife #2 did obtain a restraining order and discussed his stalking and violent tendencies. I also wonder what became of wife #1 ’s daughter who had the liver transplant, if she is alive and if so what became of her, as she would still be a minor. I wonder if the children from these marriages may later tell of their molestation or victimization.

She is a LIAR! I used to hang out on the block with other friends and I knew one of of the siblings about the time that this rotzayach was 3 years old. The kids all went to a prominent long established yeshiva in the neighborhood. The family was shomer shabbos.

Not only that he was BT, he had more strikes against him. How are we treating the Jews who are “slow”, who don’t have money to live extravagantly and donate frequently, who have no yichus…..do we treat them respectfully, as tzelem elokim, or are they rejected?

The opinions of those who knew him before this said nothing about him seeming violent or crazy, or pathological in any way. He was a loner, quiet, the worst anyone said was that he was “creepy” and that made people stay away; but he lived among us, he went to shul, to work, to weddings. Now he did the unspeakable and he is overnight a sick monster, how did noone see this before?

As someone living in E Yisroel, I am mortified by such a happening and along with that a perpetrator whose name now equals Kozo Yakamoto,Charles Manson and other hundreds of Arab murderers sitting in jail here in E Yisroel. May we learn a lesson that we should seek to be the optimum for others in order that no such happenings ever return in our communities.

First of all, there is no excuse for what this person did. However, there is a lesson for all of us in this. Namely, that we should make an effort to greet and be cordial to those that are less fortunate and downtrodden. It will make them less resentful and frustrated.

Do you really think that if he was greeted with “shalom aleichem” as he passed through his neighborhood, it would have prevented him from his horrific crimes?

Clearly no one knew what was going on in the degenerate aron’s head-very rare psycho indeed. Doing a search on some killers has revealed a troubled past- a mamzer perhaps, showing cruelty to animals, etc- no empathy, compulsive liars, good con artists. He has gone under the radar because sadly we have to wait for a poor victim. If this guy’s thirst was to kill because he was born under “mars” he was supposed to be a shochet or a mohel or a surgeon. Others like Eitan Paitz’s body was never found. John Walsh unfortunately had his 6 year old Adam abducted in Sears years ago. They got a deathbed confession by some psycho in prison. Heaven help us!!!!
