But the reported drowning at Sportsmen’s and Bennett roads at the Rondout Creek was a falsely reported incident, according to the Ulster County sheriff.
The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, and fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene shortly after the 911 call of a reported drowning came to dispatchers around 7 p.m.
However, Ulster County Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum said at 8:30 on Sunday evening, “There was no drowning.”
Van Blarcum said a 13-year-old male from Rockland County made allegations of a swimming accident that are not true. “It was falsely reported,” he said.
As of 9 p.m., responders were still at the scene.
what age is a child? How old is this child. Anyone know?
Then why did the first responding Hatzolah members requested Medics to respond in on a rush after they arrived to the scene if the whole story was a hoax? Something is missing here.
The boy was pulling a joke (?) And as a good actor he acted unconscious although he was breathing (which he couldn’t fake) he seemed to be unconscious (I’m not familiar with terminology) and that scared the authorities and they were asking for Medics not knowing how to handle this.
The boy claims that he discussed this with someone beforehand and he thought everybody knows its a joke. However, due to his act his co-jokers thought that the joke went wrong and got scared…
Let his parents pay for everyone’s time. Then he and others won’t do it again.
Some joke, especially coming after the horrible, unspeakable tragedy in BP. What type of children are we raising?
that’s exactly why children shouldn’t be allowed to have cell phones
