    Manhattan, NY – Construction workers are trying to stabilize the historic upper east side synagogue badly damaged in a fire.

    Workers began removing debris from the roof and inside of congregation Kehilath Jeshurun on East 85th Street on Saturday. Officials say removal of the debris was necessary to ensure the structural stability of the sanctuary.

    I’m not sure why anyone here on VIN would have a negative comment about a fire at a frum shteibel in New York where only orthodox yidden daven. I’m not from New York, but I don’t believe this is a reform shul (which would not be cause for humer or celebration either)>
