Eighteen-year-old Kevin Goich Junior of Manlius and 17-year-old Joshua Davis of Fayetteville left school, and they weren't seen again until when a police helicopter spotted their overturned S-U-V at the bottom of a quarry just east of Syracuse.
Davis was declared dead at the scene, while Goich died several hours later at a Syracuse hospital.

Police still aren't sure what time the crash occurred.
Authorities say the two teens were likely off-roading at the quarry when they drove over an embankment and went off a 40-foot cliff on the other side.

Officials say "no trespassing" signs are posted on the property. [AP]

A cell phone signal from one of the teens helped officers locate the pair. Sheriff’s deputies called Verizon Wireless when they didn’t have any leads about where the crash happened. The cell phone company was able to narrow down where the boys were because of the cell phone signal.
