Jerusalem – Four ultra-Orthodox men were arrested by Jerusalem police in the past week on suspicion of sexually abusing children in their neighborhood between the ages of three and 13 over the past two to three years. According to the police, the men would lure the children into their apartments using promises of candy, money, or movies, and then would abuse the children.

The four men, who were brought to the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Thursday afternoon for a remand extension hearing, denied the charges. Police suspect one of the men of serial paedophilia, and believe he may have abused a large number of haredi children in his neighborhood. The investigation was ongoing.
Baruch Hashem they are off the streets. Lets hope they receive a verdict of life imprisionment after a public trial. May Hashem comfort the victims and their famiies and loved ones.

Perhaps they might be innocent, however children are being abused and there has to be a stop to that. These are sick people and need therapy desperately.
They are as Orthodox as I am Catholic!
Why do we as jews find it hard to accept at face value there are people in our world that are capable of this. I understand we are to give every benefit of the doubt.
Being dan lkaf zechus only goes so far. NOT at the expense of a child’s well being. I pose a question for you doubtful people to ponder. Let’s say they were not arrested and actually live down the block from you and your children. Let’s say a neighbor of yours told you that you should watch out and be weary of them because they have information about them that is very disconcerting. Would you send your child out to play in front of your house without watching them at this point because your neighbor must be incorrect. Or maybe you did not listen to your neighbors words in the first place and stuck your fingers in your ears yelling “loshon hara”. For those of you who will wait for a trial and verdict to accept that they may be guilty (and then some of you will still try, ignorantly, to prove they are not really jewish or they must be balei tshuva {as if that makes a difference} – or the verdict is wrong and innocent people are going to jail, etc….) that is too long to wait to protect your children. This happens every where, within every race and religion including real life Judaism, including Orthodoxy. For those still deluded, I pray your children remain safe.
I think just like New York now pushes Gay Marriage, the next taboo to fall should be Pedophilia. Adults should be able to marry children if they have a commited and loving relationship. We need marriage equality for all including children. The descrimination must end. New York especially needs to work on this now that Sex Ed is becoming mandatory in the public schools. There will inevitably be a drop in children due to fertility control and this will negatively impact the New York city Economy. By allowing Pedophiles to marry children we will be creating a whole new marriage industry and bring needed revenues into our economy which we desperately need to make up for the shorfall due to the police writing less traffic summonses. Bloomberg you dope,start touting this great idea. Also how about some pedestrian plazas for outdoor cafes in Borough Park. this will reduce traffic and stop Global Warming. With all the hot air from the Democrats we need to fight the Global Warming problem quickly. C’mon Coumo get on the Bandwagon and support a Pedophile Pride Parade down Fifth Avenue. Thank G-d in the frum world, the awareness and action against pedophiles is becoming more accepted. We need to prevent any more future victims and help those who have, unfortunately already suffered. It is just so painful to read news like this – we are supposed to be a holy nation. It hurts to keep reading over and over again about men who go to shul and daven, put on tefilin, keep shabbos, eat kosher and ABUSE CHILDREN!!!!!!!

If they really are guilty, then we need to stand behind these poor boys and make sure these men are PUNISHED on behalf of the Jewish community! Does it really help us to support those of us who make us look bad? Who weaken us??

What makes these pe’ere odom orthodox? They are more reform than the shrimp eating, shabbos driving, wouldn’t be caught dead in tefillin Jews and I for one believe they should be remanded forever.
Child abuse, including child sexual abuse, occurs in all societies. We are not immune. The sooner we accept that reality, and take concrete steps to educate our children regarding child safety, and the sooner we see to it that the proper authorities are notified expeditiously to investigate such venal crimes, the better we will protect our children and eliminate this scourge.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt. Denial serves to enable pedophiles to continue their crimes, as does the reluctance to involve the authorities when there is reasonable suspicion that child abuse or neglect is going on.
