To Choseedishe Tote: Do you really want your children to inherit slums, no pure drinking water and sewers overflowing into the streets with feces. People originally came to Monsey and New Hempstead to give their children a better life. As a Jewish mother, I can’t imagine wishing that on anyone let alone my own children.

Yours will reap what you sow. May you live long enough to see all of them enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Sorry everyone, St. Lawrence is here to stay. It is you who will have to move. You won’t be the 1st or the last. Just face reality.

All of my children will eventually vote, are you planning to have more kids than me?

I would like to offer two possible solutions to the Ramapo problem. 1.All single family homeowners apply for a variance to build multi dwellings on their properties. If your house is on 1/2 an acre apply for a 6 family dwelling, a property over a 1/2 acre apply for a 12 family dwelling. Let’s all become developers, cash in and make St. Lawrence happy at the same time. Each dwelling should house a shul, yeshiva or kolel to gain tax exempt status.
2.Put a moratorium on all new contruction. I think we have had enough of the need for affordable housing at $400,000+ for the new condo’s that are coming up. Besides I am not too happy with the displaced wild life such as deer that attack my garden and come up to my deck. The loss of value of my property and the traffic congestion and other negative changes too numerous to mention.

Its not such a joke, all property that is owned by a Nonprofit organization that does not relate in any way to the mission of that organization is not tax exempt under the law. However, the Attorney General’s office Charities Bureau is understaffed and does not contain the resources to crack down on all these, in their eyes, little problems, they are rather far busier with bigger stuff like the Grasso/NYSE case and other multi-million dollar cases.

I agree – vote him out of office. He is a disgrace.

Let them pay taxes like everyone else. All the vishnitz and other property that is tax exempt bu used privately should also be taxed. So many houses owned by Congregations – its a joke. Enough is enough.

Maybe now everyone will just leave us alone and leave us to live in peace. We moved here for the peace and tranquility that Monsey offered. We who moved here 30 some odd years ago were not looking to make a quick buck by subdividing our 1/2 and full acre lots and putting up multi family houses. Now comes some stupid new law that grants everyone and his mother tax exempt status and the right to mess up everyone’s life. Pomona is a village that does not have running water. Who would supply all these people with the resources they will need? Why do they have to come here and antagonize people who btw are not antisemites, all they want to do is protect their way of life? I must admit that St Lawrence is not helping matters either. For every new application for downsizing, he buys another 5 acre park. Does he think that helps? I cant wait until he is voted out.
