Jerusalem – Rabbi Ovadia Yosef: Turkey Will Have Same Fate As Pharaoh, Egypt and Haman

    22

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu speaks to the media in Ankara, Turkey, Friday, Sept. 2, 2011. Turkey said Friday it was expelling the Israeli ambassador and cutting military ties with Israel over the last year's deadly raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, further souring the key Mideast relationship between Turkey and Israel. Davutoglu said Turkey was downgrading diplomatic ties to the level of second secretary and that the ambassador and other high-level diplomats would leave the capital Ankara by Wednesday.(AP Photo)Jerusalem – In his weekly sermon Saturday night, Shas’ spiritual leader dismissed the escalating crisis between Ankara and Jerusalem and expressed his hope that the fate of “Israel’s enemies” will be similar to that of their predecessors throughout history.

The rabbi concluded the sermon, which dealt with the “Ki Teitzei” Torah portion and matters relating to Elul – the month of mercy and Selichot, with the following statement: “Turkey, Burkey, God Almighty couldn’t care less about them.

“It’s all nonsense. If God lays his hands on them for one moment – they’ll be made miserable in a minute. We believe in the salvation of God Almighty. We have God Almighty and we are his sons. The one who defeated Pharaoh, Egypt and Haman – will defeat all of Israel’s enemies.”

Every Saturday evening, Rabbi Yosef discusses halachic issues and the weekly Torah portion, often addressing current events as well – mostly without political correctness considerations.

A true godol beYisroel. He realizes he made errors in the past in supporting surrender plans, and now he is not afraid to call a Turkey a Turkey.

Turkey wills itself to destroy the Jewish nation by its own decrees. It will be a challenge to see if Turkey can endure its own tribulation. Though this is not prophesy, I do believe that there will be forces in this universe that will not let Turkey attack our Holy Land.

#1 ,#2 , #3, #4 I can’t believe some of these comments. You have someone who is a recognized godol byisroel and you have the chuzpa to attack him. Im sure you have you own morah derech ask him what the halcha is for insulting a talmud chochom.

I don’t usually agree with R. Yosef but in this case, I do. History has proven over and over again that nations who seek to destroy Bnai Yisroel always end up on the ash heap of history, while a remnant of Bnai Yisroel carries on. The question always remains how many Jews must die to be m’chaper for the aveiros that leads Hashem to send the other nations against us.

Anti zionism ends up in anti-semitism. I am not a zionist but this is fact. Turkey by turning against Israel has sealed it’s faith about not getting accepted into the EU. His extreme position has cost him dearly
